摘要： 12,428. Clarke, Chapman, & Co., and Harris, R. C. May 21. Resistances.-A metal strip is bent to form loops A; and a single supporting-rod C is passed through holes punched in the strip. The strip is corrugated up to points close to the bends, and the loops are separated by single insulating-washers E, or by insulating and metal washers E, F. The supporting - rod is of insulating-material, or of metal covered with insulation. Connexion is made by terminals H supporting the unit, and intermediate connexion may be made by a terminal clamped between metal washers. Otherwise, the supporting-rod may carry the current from one end of the strip, the two terminals being adjacent; or an intermediate connexion to the rod may be made by means of tapered collars J, K, Fig. V, the collar J being split. Nuts L with spring washers m are used to clamp the loops. T h e loops may be alternately short and long; or the loops on one side may y be shorter than those on the other; or all the loops may increase in length towards the centre to obtain a unit of circular form.

The obsolete sheets 15 are turned up as shown. The stand is formed from a single length of wire, and may be used in an alternative position with the members 2, 3 resting upon the table. The sheets 15 then become those for inspection and use.

The thin metal strip B, Figs. 2 and 5, is edged with corrugated strips b , b and so folded together with the film G around the cylinder A. The strips b , b extend as far as the film, but the strip B is extended so as completely to fold over the last convolution. Side caps C , C are adapted to the ends of the cylinder, and are rotatably mounted by hollow trunnions c , c on the frame D. The trunnion c extends inwardly into the cylinder, the cross-bar a' of the cylinder being notched for this purpose. A lightprotecting plate c extends across the opening c , and has openings round the edges so as not to hinder the flow of the developer, which is introduced through the opening c . Stoppers c , c close the mouths of the trunnions. In a modification, shown in Fig. 8, the strips b , b are mounted on the inner side of the strip B, and the rims c , c' of the caps C , C' overlap to form a light-tight casing. The reel cylinder A is mounted by posts c to the side cap C , and by posts c to a light shield c which is attached to the side C by side spurs or flanges.

摘要： A method and apparatus for an inline air purification system is described herein. An example apparatus includes a housing, a high-velocity air flow guide, a filter assembly, and a fan. The high-velocity air flow guide includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is configured to form a passage within the housing, and the second portion is configured to divert and accelerate air flow of the ambient air from the passage to a chamber of the housing. The filter assembly includes one or more filtering elements configured to receive the ambient air from the chamber. The fan is configured to draw the ambient air from the chamber through the filter assembly and to generate processed air from the ambient air. The housing is located in an HVAC duct, and occupies only part of the cross-sectional area of the duct. The remaining area of the duct accommodates bypass air flow to a primary fan in the HVAC system.
