    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hammer drill which has an external housing forming a handle. SOLUTION: The tool has a change gear housing (14) provided with a driving mechanism and a motor. The change gear housing is mounted by arms (50, 52) in a manner movable in an external housing, and moves with respect to the external housing along a non-linear passage between a first position in which force is not applied to the external housing of the tool, and a second position in which a force is applied to the external housing and a work member of the tool engages with a workpiece. Then a spring (66) energizes the change gear housing toward the first position. A moving direction of the driving mechanism with respect to the external housing at a specific point on the non-linear passage is set so as to coincide with a loaded oscillating direction occurring at the driving mechanism with respect to the external housing when specific force is applied to the external housing in order to move the driving mechanism to the specific point on the non-linear passage with respect to the external housing against energizing force of an energizing means.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend and retract a drive blade of a cordless fastening tool and adjust magnetic fields of each of the stages of a multistage solenoid based on a relative position of an armature within the multistage solenoid.
      SOLUTION: The fastening device includes a tool housing 16, a first stage 18, a second stage 20, and a movable armature member 106 that travels therebetween. The device is provided with a driver blade 30 that is connected to the armature member 106 and is operable between an extended condition and a retracted condition, a control module 22 measuring a position of the armature member relative to at least one of the first stage, the second stage and a combination thereof, and a trigger assembly that is connected to the control module and activates a driver sequence of moving the driver blade member between the retracted condition and the extended condition. The control module directs power between the first stage and the second stage based on the position of the armature member relative thereto.

The hammer drill is further provided with a grooved guide mechanism extended in a direction away from a base of the drive pin toward a rotary axis of the crankshaft to introduce moving of lubricating fluid toward a bearing.
