    • There is provided an improved corner construction for interconnecting construction or frame members of a wall system. The corner construction is particularly useful with, but not limited to, a door structure of the type wherein a frame supports a panel of glass or other suitable material. The frame is formed of vertical frame members each having face portions connected by a transverse web and defining confronting glazing pockets. Spaced upper and lower rail members interconnect the vertical members and are each provided with longitudinally extending screw splines. The ends of the upper and lower rail members are coped to define tenons so that the screw splines fit within the confronting glazing pockets. Fastener means extending through the transverse webs into the screw splines expand the tenons to provide a tight fit with the glazing pockets of the vertical members.

    • There is provided an improved wall construction including a vertical mullion and a horizontal member. The horizontal member is provided with longitudinally extending screw splines. The members may be assembled in the known shear block method, or in a known screw spline system, or further in accordance with the present invention the members may be assembled in accordance with an improved shear pin system. The shear pin system employs a shear pin which joins the horizontal members to the vertical mullions. The vertical mullion is prepared for the attachment of a horizontal member by forming holes to receive the head of a shear pin, and the horizontal member is prepared by the insertion of the shear pins into screw splines formed in the horizontal member. The horizontal member is then installed on the vertical by installing the head of the shear pin into the hole previously drilled in the vertical mullion, and then tapping the horizontal downward until the shear pins bottom in the holes.

    • Nickel and cobalt are recovered from acid leach liquor containing such impurities as iron and aluminum obtained from the acid leaching of nickeliferous materials (such as sulfuric acid or nitric acid leach liquor), e.g. low-grade nickeliferous oxidic materials by adjusting the leach liquor, in the case of a sulfuric acid leach, to a pH range of about 0.5 to 4, or, more advantageously, to about 0.6 to 1.5, or in the case of a nitric acid leach to a pH of about 0.15 to 2.5, at an elevated temperature in excess of 130*C at a pressure ranging from about 225 psig to 1000 psig to precipitate major amounts of the iron and aluminum, which precipitate is then separated from the leach liquor. Thereafter, the nickel and cobalt are separated from the treated leach liquor.
