    • Disclosed is a card-receiving connector (2) comprising a card-connection part (3) and a substrate-connection part (4) in combination. The card-connection part includes two or more rows of signal pin terminals (6) adapted to mate with corresponding receptacle sockets of a pc card, parallel grounding terminals (9) arranged generally parallel to the pin terminals adapted to engaged a conductive outer panel of the card, and vertical connection rod terminals (10) for connecting the parallel grounding terminals together, thus permitting each grounding terminal (9) to be connected to the ground circuit of an underlying circuit board via the connection rod terminals (10). The signal pin terminals of the card-connection part include rear tails (8) that mate with corresponding engagement tails of terminals of the substrate-connection part (4).

    • A system (10) for maintaining a pair of fiber optic connectors in a side-by-side relation with float therebetween, along with a method of fabricating the connectors. A first connector housing (12) receives a first optical fiber plug, and includes a first latch (18) molded integrally therewith. A second connector housing (14) receives a second optical fiber plug and includes a second latch (24) molded integrally therewith. The first and second latches (18,24) are permanently and non-releasably molded in loose engagement to hold the connector housings (12,14) in a side-by-side relationship with float therebetween.

    • A connector (10) is provided for electrically interconnecting the conductors (12) of a flat flexible circuit (14) to the conductors (16) of a complementary mating connecting device (18). The connector includes a carrier (20) on which the flexible circuit (14) is positioned with the conductors of the circuit facing away from the carrier. A housing (22) has an opening (38) for receiving the carrier. The carrier (20) is slidably mounted into the opening (38) in the housing (22) to a preliminary loading position for receiving the mating connecting device (18) between the carrier and the housing. The carrier (20) is pivotable from the preliminary loading position to a final connecting position whereat the conductors (12) of the flat circuit (14) are biased against the conductors (16) on the mating connecting device (18).
