    • A biasing assembly for a wet shave razor is provided. The razor comprises a cartridge and a handle. The handle includes first and second connecting arms extending outwardly from the handle for pivotally coupling the cartridge to the handle for movement between a neutral position and a fully-rotated position. The biasing assembly includes an abutment surface defined by the cartridge and located on an underside thereof, and a biasing member extending outwardly from the handle and having an end which when the cartridge is coupled to the handle is in sliding engagement with the abutment surface such that as the cartridge moves between the neutral and fully-rotated positions, the biasing member exerts a variable torque against the abutment surface.

    • In a razor cartridge (10) , a housing (12) defines a guard (18) and a cap portion (22). At least four razor blades (16, 20, 24, 26) are positioned between the guard and cap portion, each having a cutting edge and an overall exposure relative to at least two skin engaging surfaces defined by the razor cartridge. The blades are positioned within a housing such that the overall exposures for the blad es do not progressively increase from the first or guard blade to the last or cap blade. The overall exposure IE of each of the razor blades is equal to an aver age of four individual exposures measured along a length defined by the razor blade for which exposure is being sought. The individual exposures are equal to the length of an exposure line extending between the cutting edge of the razor bla de for which exposure is being sought and a tangent line, the exposure line being approximately perpendicular to the tangent line.

    • A razor assembly (10) is provided that includes a razor cartridge (12) with one or more razor blades (26), a shaving aid body (14), and a linkage (18) pivotally connected to the handle. The linkage is connected to the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body in a manner such that the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body are moveable relative to the handle. Movement of one of the razor cartridge or the shaving aid body in a first direction causes the other of the razor cartridge or the shaving aid body to move in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction. As a result, the positions of the shaving aid body and the razor cartridge are continuously adjusted to maintain the contact surface (32) of the shaving aid body approximately co-planar with the cutting edges (30) of the razor blades within the razor cartridge.

    • A shaving apparatus is provided that includes a reservoir (16), a support carriage (14), a razor cartridge (12), and a handle (18). The reservoir (16), which is operable to contain a non-solid shaving aid material, includes a selectively collapsible side wall (32) surrounding an interior cavity (42) having a volume. The support carriage (14) includes a guide member (22) and an applicator panel (24). The applicator panel (24) includes one or more ports (30) in fluid communication with the reservoir (16). One end of the reservoir (16) is attached to the support carriage (14), and the other end of the reservoir (16) is attached to the handle (18). The razor cartridge (12) is mounted on the support carriage (14) adjacent the applicator panel (24). The support carriage (14) is movable relative to the handle (18) in a manner that enables the reservoir side wall (32) to collapse to decrease the volume of the reservoir (16), and thereby transfer shaving aid material from the reservoir (16) to the one or more ports (30). According to an aspect of the present invention, a shaving apparatus is provided that includes the above described reservoir, support carriage, and razor cartridge, and a mounting flange, collectively assembled as a replaceable cartridge (46) that is selectively attachable to a handle.

    • The invention is an electrochemical battery cell with a fluid consuming electrode, such as an oxygen reduction electrode, and a fluid regulating system. The fluid regulating system includes a valve for adjusting the rate of passage of the fluid to the fluid consuming electrode. It is operated by an actuator that responds (e.g., by deforming) to changes in a potential applied across the actuator to open or close the valve. The applied potential can be the cell potential or an adjusted potential. The potential applied across the actuator can vary according to the need for more or less fluid in the fluid consuming electrode. The valve can be contained within the cell housing, for example between the fluid consuming electrode and one or more fluid entry ports in the cell housing, or it can be located outside the cell housing.
