    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant-current circuit which is reducible in power consumption in stationary operation. SOLUTION: The constant-current circuit 1 comprises an actuating circuit 24, a self-bias circuit 15, and a constant-current generating circuit 16. When a DC voltage VC is applied to the constant-current circuit 1, a capacitor 18 as an electricity accumulating means having decreased in electric charge quantity turns on a transistor 22 as a switching element for start-up and a starting current is outputted to actuate the constant-current generating circuit 16. Then when a transistor 17 as a switching element for control turns on, a control current flows in the capacitor 18, whose electric charge quantity increases to turn off the transistor 22, thereby stopping outputting the starting current. Consequently, constant output currents are outputted from transistors 25 and 28 in the stationary operation while the output of the starting current is stopped.

CONSTITUTION:A level shift circuit consisting of a p-channel MOS transistor TR is inserted between the nodes 6 and 7 of a reference voltage generating circuit and the forward/opposite phase inputs 10 and 13, respectively. The level shift circuit inserted between the node 6 and the opposite phase input 10 consists of the p-channel TR 8 and 9, and the level shift circuit inserted between the node 7 and the forward input 13 consists of the p-channel TR 11 and 12. Since each voltage Va of both nodes 6 and 7 is shifted to a high potential level by the level shift circuit, when the gate bias voltage VB of the TR 8 and 11 are properly selected. The voltage is enough for the amplifier 14 to normally function and can be supplied to both inputs 10 and 13.
