    • A formwork partitioning system (10, 30) used in construction in situ of mud brick walls (6), cement stabilised earth walls, rammed earth walls and the like. The system (10, 30) comprises a plurality of formboards (11, 33) which are in a pair of opposed rows (12, 13, 33) which are spaced apart from each other by a plurality of partitions (14, 34, 35). The formboards (11, 33) project at their lower edges past the lower edges of the partitions (14, 34, 35) and thereby are able to straddle the lower course of blocks (4) to enable the blocks (4) to be cast into the moulds (22, 31) formed by the system (10, 30) whilst the formwork is mounted on the wall (6). Cavities (24, 32) between the blocks (4) are filled with mortar thus forming a strong and cost effective wall (6).

    • A mould (10) includes: an end wall (14); a frame (16); a. first pair of opposed side walls (12) that: are spaced from each other; extend between the end wall (.14) and the frame (16); and are connected to the end wad (14) and to the frame (16); a first handle (26) defined by the end wad (14); and a second handle (26) defined by the frame (16), for, in use, placing and lifting the mould (10); a limiter (24) associated with each side wall (12), which limiters (24) can protrude from each side wall (12) towards the other side wail (12), in use, to limit the degree to which a wall section on which the mould (10) is placed, is received between the side wells (12) from the operative bottom of the side walls (12); and means for translating: (i) operative vertical relative movement of the end wail (14) and frame (IS) on the one hand and the side wails (12) on the other hand; into (II) operative horizontal displacement of the side wails (12) towards or away from each other. In use, placement of the mould (10) on a wall section causes: the operative bottom of the side walls (12) to overlap a portion of the wail section until the wall section contacts the limiters (24), restricting further movement of the side wails (12) relative to the wall section; and further movement of the end wall (14) and frame (16) operatively downwards towards the wall section, and consequent operative downward movement: of the end wail (14) and frame (IS) relative to the side wails (12) causes the side walls (12) to move towards each other.

    • The invention relates to a set of parts for use in building, comprising a plurality of separate parts which are assemblable to provide a former for defining a desired configuration in a set settable material, characterised by at least two interengageable surface forming parts (2, 3), and by a thrust part (4) which maintains the surface forming parts (2, 3) in an assembled position, and by the thrust part (4) being removable to allow the surface forming parts (2, 3) to be moved from the set settable material whereby to leave the desired configuration (7) in that material (6).
      The invention also extends to a constructional method, and to a building or part thereof constructed using the set of parts described.

    • A rectangular shaped device for making abode bricks including an L-shaped rod mounted perpendicularly to the rectangular shaped device to provide stability and a T-shaped planar insert having a means for adjusting so that different size abode bricks can be made. The form is used at the desired position to make an adobe brick of the adobe structure. The setting of the rectangular shaped device next to the just previously formed adobe brick leaves a gap. The gap is filled when an adobe brick is formed above the gap. Also, the form is combined with a plurality of forms to make a gang mold. The gang mold is used to make a course of adobe bricks. This method of on site adobe brick building forms an uniform integrated adobe structure.
