    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive automatic tensioner causing no deterioration in damper performance due to entrained air.
      SOLUTION: The automatic tensioner 1 includes: a cylinder 9 opened in one end and closed in the other end; a plunger 10 inserted into the cylinder 9 movably in the axial direction; and a return spring biasing the plunger 10 in the direction projecting from the cylinder 9. In the automatic tensioner 1 absorbing a tensile force change of a timing chain 6 by movement of the plunger 10, a ring spring 11 generating damper action by friction resistance is used as the return spring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disc spring housed in a case from wearing the case inner peripheral part when the disc spring is pressed. SOLUTION: Many driven plates 14 are fitted on the inner periphery of a clutch drum 12. Drive plates 16 are arranged between the driven plates 14, 14. The drive plates 16 are attached to a clutch hub 18. A piston 20 is so arranged as to face the driven plate 14a on the rightest end. A disc spring 22 is arranged between the driven plate 14a and the piston 20. The disc spring 22 is so arranged that the inside diameter side may be brought into contact with the driven plate 14a and that the outside diameter side may be brought into contact with the piston 20. A cylindrical supporting part 14a1 projecting outward from the inside diameter side of a ring-shaped plate main body is formed on the driven plate 14a to be brought into contact with the disc spring 22. The outside diameter size of the supporting part 14a1 corresponds to the inside diameter size of the disc spring 22, and the disc spring 22 is fitted to the supporting part 14a1 of the driven plate 14a.
