    • An installation structure of a rotation detector for detecting a rotation amount of a rotational shaft such as a kingpin. The installation structure prevents wear and damage to an input shaft of the rotation detector caused by a radial force applied to the input shaft and has high detection accuracy by eliminating slack between the rotational shaft and the input shaft. The rotation detector is fixed to a support member rotatably supporting the rotational shaft such that the input shaft is substantially coaxial with the rotational shaft. The input shaft is coupled to the rotational shaft through a rotation transmitting means. The rotation transmitting means permits the axis of the input shaft to be offset from the axis of the rotational shaft and limits relative rotation between the input shaft and the rotational shaft. When the axis of the input shaft is offset from the axis of the rotational shaft, the radial force applied to the input shaft from the rotational shaft is absorbed and mitigated, and the rotation of the rotational shaft is transmitted to the input shaft without loss.

    • An elongated tubular steel body has a longitudinally extending internal seat for engaging an end portion of at least one generally cylindrical concrete reinforcing bar or rebar having a center axis. A series of longitudinally spaced and peripherally spaced threaded holes are formed within the body in opposing relation to the seat, and a screw is threaded into each hole. The axes of the holes and screws define planes which converge toward the center axis of the reinforcing bar and are arranged in alternating staggered relation along the length of the body. The tubular body may have different cross-sectional shapes or profiles, and the seat may be formed by converging wedging surfaces or longitudinally extending circumferentially spaced rails each having teeth engaging the body and reinforcing bar.

    • A mechanical coupler for reinforcing bars is made of a sleeve divided into two halves split (13, 14) along its longitudinal axis. Each half is grooved (being a “female” 16) along its inner surface to match with the deformations “male” (10) on the reinforcing bars (1, 2). The sleeve is adopted to connect the ends of the two reinforcing bars in which the deformations of the reinforcing bars “male” (10) fitted into the groves “female” (16) made in the inner surface of the sleeve (13, 14). Three methods for closing the two halves in order to make the sleeve with the bars connection behaving as one unit are presented. The sleeve parts can be manufactured using casting or forging or rolling methods. The coupler does not affect the effective cross-section area of the reinforcing bars as in case of threading or concentrate stresses at certain points as in case of notching. The coupler as presented could allow for connecting reinforcing bars ends with different diameters.
