    • Input offset voltage calibration of an analog device, or plurality of analog devices, is controlled by a microcontroller. The microcontroller and analog device(s) are fabricated on an integrated circuit die or in multi-chip package. The microcontroller applies a digital word to an input offset voltage compensation circuit of the analog device for generating input offset voltage compensation circuit of the analog device for generating input offset voltage compensation. The analog device is switched to a calibrate mode and a voltage comparator compares the output of the analog input device and a voltage reference. When the output of the analog input device is equal to or greater than the voltage reference, the comparator output signals the microcontroller by changing its output logic level. The input offset voltage compensation circuit of the analog input device has a storage register or memory that retains the digital word which compensates for the input device has a storage register or memory that retains the digital word which compensates for the input offset voltage.

There is a calibration means (240) for, responsive to the control signal, adjusting a DC level in the signal path at a location preceding the output of the first signal processing stage (210) when the switch means (260, 410a, 410b, 42Oa1 420b) is in the second state.

    • An amplifier chain with sequential DC offset correction for use in a radio receiver is provided. The amplifier chain has at least first and second amplifier stages connected in series. The first and second stages include an amplifier and a track and hold circuit connected in parallel across the amplifier. The track and hold circuit has a tracking state and a holding state. A control signal is coupled to the track and hold circuits of the first and second stages. The control signal is configured to set the track and hold circuits to the tracking state, which may be done simultaneously, and to sequentially set the track and hold circuit of the first stage to the holding state and then set the track and hold circuit of the second stage to the holding state.

    • A voltage to frequency converter using a charge pump to restore the output voltage of the input integrator. The charge pump implementation allows the voltage to frequency converter's input to sense voltage above and below ground with a single supply using a charge pump, which can provide either a positive charge or a negative charge as the restoring force to the integrator. Inclusion of an interleaved charge pump provides advantages of implementation simplicity and of high performance. The voltage to frequency converter concentrates all offset and leakage errors at the input of the integrator amplifier, which in the preferred embodiment is a chopper stabilized amplifier providing very low offset. The voltage to frequency converter is intended for realization in integrated circuit form, providing very high performance in an integrated circuit having very low power requirements.
