    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality while improving a transfer rate of developer to concave parts on a sheet irrespective of conditions for image formation.SOLUTION: A transfer device includes: a power source control unit that controls a first control signal for controlling a DC voltage and a second control signal for controlling an AC voltage on the basis of conditions for image formation; a DC power source that outputs the DC voltage on the basis of the first control signal; an AC power source that selectively outputs, in a predetermined waveform, a superimposed voltage in which the AC voltage based on the second control signal is superimposed on the DC voltage output from the DC power source and the DC voltage output from the DC power source; and a transfer unit that transfers developer onto a sheet by using the voltage output from the AC power source.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently transfer a toner image on the circumferential surface of a transfer roller to media, even when the media has high insulation.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic apparatus is configured so that the toner image formed on the circumferential surface of a photoreceptor drum is transferred to the circumferential surface of a transfer roller 2 and transferred to media 7 traveling through a nip portion between the transfer roller and a backup roller 3 to both of which a potential having the polarity reverse to that of the toner image formed on the photoreceptor drum is applied, by a nip pressure between both rollers and a difference in the potential having the polarity reverse to that of the toner image between both rollers.
