    • A precision balance includes a load receiving member, a balance housing and a measuring cell connected to the load receiving member and the balance housing. The measuring cell is arranged between side portions of an intermediate support member and is fastened thereto in a frictionally engaging manner. The contact surfaces between the intermediate support member and the measuring cell can be produced with narrow tolerances in a simple manner, so that a screw connection between the intermediate support member and the measuring cell does not introduce significant distorting forces into the measuring cell. The measuring cell can be adjusted with the intermediate support member before being mounted in the balance housing. The later mounting of the measuring cell does not influence the adjustment because the intermediate arrangement of the intermediate support member disconnects the measuring cell from inaccuracies of the fastening surfaces on the housing.

    • The rod-shaped load cell consists of a guide section (1), which is subdivided into a frame (6) and a load-bearing element (7), and two parallel, rigid plates (8) connecting the two cited elements.     • It is disclosed for a balance with a scale on top based on the principle of the electromagnetic compensation of force with a system carrier fixed to the housing, with a load receiver, with two guide rods which connect the load receiver to the system carrier in a vertically movable direction as parallel guide, whereby the stem carrier, the two guide rods and the load receiver are designed as a one-piece casting, with a translation lever and with a coupling element between load receiver and translation lever, whereby the force from the load receiver corresponding to the mass of the weighed material is transferred via the coupling element to the shorter lever arm of the translation lever and the coil of the electromagnetic compensation of force is fastened to the longer lever arm of the translation lever that the system carrier comprise lateral projections which extend into the area between the guide rod arms. This achieves a distinct reinforcement of the system carrier without having to increase the outer dimensions of the system. The stability of the entire system can be further increased by means of further reinforcement measures in the lad receiver and in the guide rod arms.

    • The specification discloses a balance for measuring a load. This balance uses an electronic or optical transducer and a parallelogram support for the load to be weighed. The parallelogram linkage uses one or more torsion bars to resiliently support the load, wherein the deflection of the parallelogram is proportional to the weight of the load. When used with a capacitance transducer, the parallelogram linkage also enables the capacitor plates to remain parallel to one another as the parallelogram is loading, thereby producing a signal that can be electronically processed to provide a liner digital read out signal on indication of weight. Electronic data processing means as provided to calculate and display on indication of weight and/or volume. An optional opitcal indicator means is also disclosed to provide an optical reading of the weight of the load.

    • A weighing system includes a weighing pan connected to a rigid armature by a mechanical filter constraining the armature to motion along a reference axis with respect to a housing and damping out transient forces along this axis resulting from the placement of objects on the pan. The mechanical filter includes spring and damping elements that provide a low-pass filter, that is, one that efficiently and quickly eliminates high frequency oscillations. In one form, the mechanical filter couples the pan to the armature. Because of this connection, friction in the mechanical filter does not result in frictional errors in the weighing measurement. In another form, a mechanical linkage couples the armature to the housing. A force transducer, comprising a pair of complementary opposed surfaces having a mutual separation which is related to the force across the transducer, is coupled between the armature and the housing. Coupled to the transducer is a position sensor which generates a signal representative of the separation between the complementary opposed surfaces of the transducer.
