摘要： A disk brake is provided which is free from problems attributed to the obverse-reverse orientation of a cover member as installed. A cylinder portion (21) slidably accommodating a piston is formed from a plate-shaped cover member (43) constituting the bottom thereof and a caliper body main part (46) having an opening (45) that is closed with the cover member (43). The cover member (43) is joined to the caliper body main part (46) to close the opening (45). A projection (60) is provided on one side of the cover member (43) that faces inside the cylinder portion (21), and a blind hole (61) is provided on the other side of the cover member (43). When the cover member (43) has been installed in the normal orientation, the blind hole (61) remains after the outer surface of the bottom of the caliper body has been subjected to face cutting after the installation of the cover member (43).

摘要： A caliper body of a floating-type disk brake includes a cylinder having a cylinder bore into which piston pressing brake pads are disposed against a disk rotor, a bridge extending from the cylinder part including a through-hole, and a claw part formed on a leading end side of the bridge and disposed opposite to the cylinder part. The caliper body of the floating-type disk brake is made in a mold with sprues provided in at least two places spaced apart from each other in a disk rotor circumferential direction on a region corresponding to the claw part. Molten metal is poured from the sprues in at least two places of the mold, and starts to solidify from a side of the cylinder part.

摘要： Provided is an outer joint member for a constant velocity universal joint, which can be manufactured at low cost. The outer joint member includes a cup member (13) having a tubular body portion (1) and a bottom portion (12) for closing one opening of the body portion (1), and also includes a disc-like flange member (2) mounted on the bottom portion (12) of the cup member (13). A protrusion (8) is provided on the bottom portion (12), the flange member (2) is fitted on the protrusion (8), and an inside surface (4a) of the flange member (2) and an outer diameter surface (3) of the protrusion are bonded together by welding. In the welding, molten metal flows into a relief portion (9) provided in a fitting portion between the cup member (13) and the flange member (2), and this prevents the weld bead from raising, thereby reducing costs otherwise necessary to eliminate the raised bead.

摘要： A disc brake includes a caliper housing, a pair of friction members, and a piston. The caliper housing includes a support portion and a cylinder portion coupled to the support portion. The cylinder portion has a piston chamber with a fluid inlet opening. The cylinder portion is an independent component from the support portion. Preferably, the caliper housing includes parts constructed of deformed sheet material such as press formed sheet metal. The parts are preferably fixedly coupled together by welding, brazing and bolts. The friction members are coupled to the caliper housing to form a rotor slot. The piston is mounted in the piston chamber to move one friction member between a release position and a braking position. In one embodiment, an integrated mounting member and a flanged cylinder is provided. In another embodiment, a pair of flanged cylinders with a pair of movable pistons is provided.
