摘要： An internal combustion engine (10) for a vehicle comprises a fuel injector (12) which supplies fuel to a combustion chamber formed in a piston (1), and an oil pan which stores engine oil below the piston (1). With regard to a phenomenon whereby the engine oil is diluted with the fuel injected by the fuel injector (12), a controller (90) determines whether or not the engine oil needs to be regenerated (S13). When the engine oil needs to be regenerated, the controller (90) switches a cooling water path in the engine (10) by controlling an electrically controlled thermostat (74), and raises the temperature of the engine oil over a predetermined time period (S15, S17). As a result of this temperature increase, the fuel in the engine oil is vaporized, thereby reducing the dilution ratio of the engine oil, and thus the engine oil is regenerated.

One method comprises, when engine oil dilution is higher than a first threshold and engine oil temperature is below a temperature threshold, adjusting a position of an air induction system (AIS) throttle, generating a vacuum, and providing the vacuum to a crankcase of the boosted engine to enhance fuel evaporation from engine oil. The providing of vacuum may be discontinued when engine oil dilution is lower than the first threshold and/or when engine oil temperature rises above the temperature threshold.

摘要： A diesel engine includes: a PM filter provided in its exhaust passage; a fuel injection valve for performing post fuel injection in a cylinder of an engine body in addition to primary fuel injection, in order to supply fuel to the PM filter, to maintain its purification performance; an oil level sensor for detecting a degree of dilution of engine oil; and a first indicator lamp that is turned on to indicate that the engine oil needs to be changed when the degree of dilution of engine oil detected by the oil level sensor is equal to or greater than an allowable level. The vehicle diesel engine overrides the prohibition of the post fuel injection until a distance traveled by the vehicle after the indicator lamp is turned on reaches a predetermined distance.
