    • A kit (1) for assembling a variety of different door configurations adapted to be installed within a predetermined range of dimensions, onto a specific door opening (7) defined within a fixed structure (9) and contained within said predetermined range of dimensions. The kit (1) includes first components (11) for assembling a specific door leaf (13) shaped and sized for substantially covering the specific door opening (7). The kit (1) also includes second components (15) for mounting onto the fixed structure (9) of the specific door opening (7), the second components (15) including components (15) for assembling a track system (17) along which the specific door leaf (13) is configured to travel. The kit (1) also includes third components (19) for assembling a counterbalancing system (21) operatively connectable between the specific door leaf (13) and the fixed structure (9) for counterbalancing the specific door leaf (13) with respect to said fixed structure (9). The components (11,15,19) of the kit (1) are configured to be selectively adjustable along given increments for assembling a specific door assembly (23) representative of dimensions (25,27) of the specific door opening (7), and the components (11,15,19) of the kit (1) are further configured to be provided with adjustment means (29), and corresponding marking systems (31) representative of given increments, for selectively adjusting parameters of the components (11,15,19) of the kit (1) in response to the specific door leaf (13) being used for assembling the specific door assembly (23).

    • A universal hatch assembly for accessing an enclosure includes a door. The frame has an opening defined therein that is dimensioned and configured for mounting the door. A hinge apparatus allows pivotal movement of the door about a first axis between a first position in which the door covers the opening and a second open position. The interior side of the door has an elongated channel extending in substantially perpendicular relationship to the first axis. An operating lever for positioning the door, has first and second axial extremities. A first axial part of the operating lever is spaced apart from the second axial extremity which is pivotally connected to the frame. The second axial extremity is dimensioned and configured for sliding meshing engagement with the elongated channel. The hatch assembly includes a lift assembly to provide a favorable counterbalance for the door. The frame may include a peripheral groove extending around substantially the entire frame. At least one module selected from several different modules according to a given application has a mounting surface dimensioned and configured for engaging the peripheral groove.

    • An overhead door is provided with a pair of stays and respective stay holding tension springs arranged such that, when the door is closed, they are expanded only less than twice of their length they have when the door is opened so that they are not subjected to excessive loads and hence can have a prolong service life. Each of the stays is rotatably fitted to the inner surface of a corresponding lateral wall of a cabinet main body by way of a rotary shaft and have its front end pivotably secured to the door at a position close to the lower edge of the door. A pair of slide rail assemblies, each comprising an outer rail and an inner rail 9b, are arranged such that the outer rails are fitted longitudinally in parallel with each other on the inner surface of the door and the upper end of each of the inner rails is pivotably secured to the front edge of the roof board of the cabinet main body. Each of the stay holding tension springs are soarranged that each of them is hooked at an end to a position located upward and forward relative to the corresponding rotary shaft on the inner surface of the related lateral wall of the cabinet main body and at the opposite end to a middle point of the corresponding stay. Thus, the outer rails and the door are urged upward relative to the inner rails by the stay holding tension springs so that the door may be opened lightly and the torque applied to the door when the door is closed is alleviated by the stay holding tension springs.

    • A door such as an oven door structure in which an enclosure such as the oven has an access opening with a door for closing the opening mounted for rotation about an axis between closed and open positions with the door being easily removable when desired by moving it to a position between open and closed and moving the door by pushing the door downward against a yieldable urging means in a direction to move a pin of each of two pairs of pins into alignment with a side opening in a slot, moving these pins through the opening followed by moving a second pair of pins out of their openings with the result that the door is completely removed from the enclosure. In the preferred construction a pivotally mounted link arm on each side of the door is movable about an axis spaced from the door axis so that the link arms and the door pivot at different rates and with a cavity in each arm that coincides with a pin removal slot only when the door is in its intermediate removable position so that the door can only be removed in the above manner in this intermediate position. An automatic safety catch is provided so that when the door is removed the hinge mechanism is prevented from closing against the enclosure prior to reinstallation of the door on the hinge mechanism.
