摘要： A connection between composites with non-compatible properties and a method of preparing of such connections are provided. The composites comprise first and second type fibres, respectively, as well as resin. The connection comprises a transition zone between the composites having a layered structure. The transition zone may optionally comprise a transition member and the transition member may optionally be integrated with one or more of the composites. Examples of non-compatible properties where the present connection will be appreciated are great differences in stiffness, e.g. Young's modulus, or in coefficient of thermal expansion.

摘要： A linear recess is provided in a reverse side surface of a synthetic resin base plate 1, and a film 3 covers the linear recess. In this manner, a tunnel-shaped reaction chamber 12 surrounded by the film 3 and the base plate is configured. In addition, a protruding portion 31 is formed in a manner such that the film 3 protrudes into the reaction chamber 12 from the reverse side surface of the base plate 1. Since evaporation of a reagent and the like is suppressed and gaps which are caused by a difference in thermal expansion coefficients between the base plate 1 and the film 3 are formed only in side walls of the reaction chamber 12 and the protruding portion 31 of the film 3, reduction of the reagent and the like is prevented and a reaction product can be sufficiently obtained.

摘要： Polypropylene is one of the most commonly used plastics in furniture and various structures (such as for example plastic warehouses) due to its cheap price, friendliness to the environment (in terms of degrading in a reasonable time when thrown away as waste), and good strength per weight factor. However, one of its biggest disadvantages is that like Teflon it is very inert, and therefore it is very hard to paint it after production or to connect other materials to it for example through chemical means, ultrasound, or with heat. Although it is possible to add various patterns or textures, such as for example wood-like patterns to the cast, and although is possible to add for example more colors without mixing them or with only partial mixing in order to get more than one color, such a mixing cannot be precisely controlled and cannot be made to fit with the texture, whereas for example wood texture would require proper color changes in correlation with the texture. The present invention solves the above problems preferably by manufacturing the Polypropylene (for example by appropriate casting or extrusion) with a texture that can easily connect mechanically to other materials preferably by small protrusions such as for example T shaped protrusions and/or other protrusions that preferably become wider at their ends and/or various grooves that preferably become wider in their deeper parts. This is preferably done in combination with various corrugated structures. The same or similar methods can be used also for example for connecting various materials to structures made out of Teflon or of other chemically inert materials which are hard to connect to.

摘要： The bonding of components is facilitated by a conductive pattern which generates heat upon being irradiated with microwave or RF energy. The electrically conductive pattern is positioned on a first component surface and a curable resin having adhesive properties is applied thereto. A second component surface is placed in contacting relation with the resin and the conductive pattern is irradiated with microwave or RF energy to facilitate curing wherein the components are bonded together along the pattern. The conductive pattern can be utilized without adhesive resin wherein heat generated via the application of microwave or RF energy causes components to fuse together. The conductive pattern can be enveloped by polymeric material, wherein the polymeric material becomes the adhesive for bonding components when microwave or RF energy is applied.

摘要： A cup with a plastic body has a base part defining a central opening and a radially outwardly extending flange around the base part and a continuous rib projecting in a generally axially direction from the lower surface of the flange, and a metal base closure of a metal having a different coefficient of expansion from the plastic body. An annular gasket between the closure and the lower surface of the flange is in continuous engagement with the flange rib. The closure has a rim that is staked over the flange a distance greater than any anticipated distance of contraction or expansion of the flange upon repeated cycling of heating and cooling. An apparatus for making the cup includes a cup-supporting platform, staking arms pivotally mounted at generally equispaced stations around the platform and a cam mounted to actuate the arm substantially simultaneously.
