The clutch installation apparatus includes a mounting plate that is removably mountable to a bell housing. The plate has a pair of slots extending therethrough. Fastening members are utilized to secure the plate to the bell housing. A pair of posts is fixedly coupled to the front surface of the plate. A pair of spools is rotatably coupled to the front surface of the plate. A strap extends between and is fixedly coupled to the spools. The strap is removably wound about the spools. A pair of couplers removably couples the strap to the clutch component. A pair of guide pins is releasably extendable through apertures in the bell housing. A ratcheting means selectively prevents rotation in a first direction and allows rotation in a second direction.

The tool includes an elongated tubular handle extending along a longitudinal axis having a first end and an opposed second end. A grip assembly is formed at the first end of the handle. The grip assembly has a handle extension fastened to the first end of the handle and extending away from the handle along the longitudinal axis, and a pair of spaced fingers positioned at the free end of the handle extension, the fingers being spaced about the longitudinal axis of the tool and extending in a direction transverse to the length of the tool. The fingers of the tool are adapted to engage a groove defined in the hub of the front planetary assembly so that the combined reverse clutch assembly and planetary assembly can be simultaneously installed in the automatic transmission of an automobile.

An elongated rod insertable through the tubular member has a front end threadable into a bore in the rear of the cylindrical member. The rear end of the rod accepts a nut which is engageable against the rear of the tubular member for enabling the members to be selectively axially locked together.

摘要： An universal clutch alignment tool is provided. A tool rod is assembled with a connecting mechanism, and the connecting mechanism is then assembled with a positioning pipe, thereby forming a tool for assembling/disassembling a clutch. The connecting mechanism includes a sleeve, a driving rod, and connecting blocks. The sleeve is made into a hollow pipe in which a driving head at one end of the driving rod is disposed. The surface of the sleeve is formed with slots respectively arranged at an angular interval in which the connecting blocks are received. The outer surface of the driving head is formed with a conical driving slope. The middle section of each driving block is provided with a V-shaped notch. The inner walls on both sides of the notch are formed with two connecting slopes symmetrical to each other. The outer edge of the driving head is inserted into the notches of the connecting blocks, so that the tool rod drives the connecting blocks via the driving rod to generate a radial expansion or retraction, thereby allowing various kinds of clutches to be assembled or disassembled.
