摘要： Adapters for a connector assembly for percutaneous tubing are provided. A male adapter (fig. 22a, 1000) includes a connector fitting (1002) proximate a first end, the connector fitting configured to join to a connector for a tubing system or device, and a male connector (656) proximate a second end. The male connector includes a plug end with a fluid lumen defined therethrough, the plug end having a circumferential groove defined therein to receive a locking extension of a female connector sized to be received within the circumferential groove of the plug end to allow the female connector to rotate relative to and maintain axial engagement with the male connector when the locking extension is received within the groove. An adapter having a female connector (fig. 24, 1300) is also provided.

The neurosurgical devices can include, for example, a cannula having a main portion and an angle-forming member proximate a distal end of the main portion. The angle-forming member can be configured to transition from a substantially straight configuration while the cannula is advanced through tissue along a substantially straight first portion of a path to an angled configuration when the angle- forming member reaches an end of the substantially straight first portion of the path. The neurosurgical devices also can include, for example, a neurosurgical catheter including a surface disrupter, an elongated macerator, or a lateral opening. Neurosurgical catheterization portals also are disclosed. The neurosurgical catheterization portals can, for example, have an adjustable portal that is movable relative to a body to accommodate different entry angles of a catheterization path.

摘要： A valve for selectively permitting a fluid flow between first and second medical implements is disclosed. The valve has a housing with an interface suitable for receiving a connector portion of a first medical device such as a catheter, and a seal made of a flexible material. The seal has a first end in fluid communication with the interface, a second end suitable for receiving the second medical device, and at least one slit in fluid communication with the first end and the second end. The slit defines a restricted fluid flow path and a relatively small interior volume when in an undisturbed state, defines an expanded fluid flow path and a larger interior volume upon the introduction of the second medical instrument into the slit, and retracts to define a restricted flow path and a small interior volume upon the withdrawal of the second medical device from the seal. The slit is constructed such that its upstream end initially is sealed as the second medical device is withdrawn. A fluid occupying the small interior volume of the slit is forced toward the downstream end of the slit.
