    • Method for operating a delta wound three-phase permanent magnet brushless motor. A transition speed is determined in a quadrant of a speed versus torque curve above which speed continues to increase while current/torque decreases wherein actual phase current can be controlled in a current control modification manner which reduces requested phase current. The modification manner is determined for a quadrant, wherein a controller can use the modification manner to reduce the requested phase current to control the actual phase current when the speed is above the transition speed. The motor is controlled in a quadrant wherein, when the motor has a speed above the transition speed, the controller reduces the requested phase current in the modification manner and the controller supplies the actual phase current to the motor using the reduced requested phase current and using measured phase current of the motor derived from using a single current sense resistor.

    • One expression of an embodiment of the invention is for a damper (10) including a damper cylinder (12) and a damper gas cup assembly (14). The damper gas cup assembly (14) is disposed in, and is slidingly engagable with, the damper cylinder (12) and includes a gas-and-liquid-impermeable damper gas cup (34) and a liquid-permeable member (36). The damper gas cup (34) has a central longitudinal axis (38) and has an outwardly-facing first circumferential surface (40) with a fully-circumferential first surface groove (42). The first surface groove (42) is adapted to receive a first seal (44). The member (36) is disposed outside, and is attached to, the damper gas cup (34) and has an outwardly-facing second circumferential surface (46) with a fully-circumferential second surface groove (48). The second surface groove (48) is adapted to receive a second seal (50). Another expression of an embodiment of the invention is for the damper gas cup assembly (14) without mention of the damper cylinder (12).

    • A rotary velocity sensor (10) includes a stator (12) having a coil (14) and a rotor (16) having a permanent magnet (18).
