摘要： The invention provides a higher alkoxy-substituted organopolysiloxane having, in a molecule, at least one alkoxy group of 4 to 30 carbon atoms bonded to the silicon atom excepting those at the molecular chain ends and still having a high degree of polymerization of at least 15. Such an organopolysiloxane, not known in the prior art, can be prepared by the dehydrogenation condensation reaction between an organohydrogenpolysiloxane and a higher aliphatic alcohol in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of a platinum compound and an organic acid such as acetic and citric acids. The higher alkoxy-substituted organopolysiloxane is useful as an additive in toiletry and cosmetic preparations by virtue of the good compatibility with other ingredients therein and high resistance against hydrolysis.

摘要： Disclosed are purified polyether silicone addition reaction products of a hydrogen siloxane and a polyoxyalkylene containing a terminal double bond, which in unpurified form contains one or both of unreacted polyoxyalkylene and internal rearrangement side reaction products thereof which generate unpleasant odors in the reaction product upon storage and upon contact with water, substantially free from said unreacted polyoxyalkylene and rearrangement products thereof so that the total quantity of ketones and aldehydes produced by a treatment of the purified polyether silicones in a closed system at 60.degree. C. for 24 hours with a quantity of 10 .sup.4 N aqueous hydrochloric acid equivalent to the quantity of said polyether silicones, is no greater than 1,000 ppm of said polyether silicones, which purified polyether silicones are obtained by treating the unpurified form thereof with water, an aqueous solution of pH no greater than 7 or an acidic material, until substantially all of the odorous substances are produced and then removing the odorous substances therefrom.

摘要： A composite polymeric material having a high permeability to oxygen is proposed comprising a vinyl chloride moiety, an organosilicon moiety and, optionally, a third polymeric moiety. Such a composite polymeric material can be prepared in several ways including copolymerization of vinyl chloride monomer, a polymerizable organosilicon compound and, optionally, a third monomer, graft-polymerization of a polymerizable organosilicon compound on to a polyvinyl chloride resin, graft-polymerization of vinyl chloride on to an organopolysiloxane, graft-copolymerization of vinyl chloride and a polymerizable organosilicon compound on to a third polymer and blending of the respective polymeric components.
