摘要： A light weight golf club shaft is disclosed which has an average weight of not greater than 1.4 g per inch and which is composed of an inner tubular layer of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic having a fiber orientation angle of 40 to 50 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shaft and an outer tubular layer of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic provided around the inner layer and having a fiber orientation angle of 5 to 30 degrees. The inner layer is obtained from a prepreg sheet by a sheet winding method, while the outer layer is obtained from a roving carbon fibers by a filament winding method. The inner layer has been hardened before the winding of the roving. A reinforcing layer obtained from a prepreg and having a fiber orientation angle of 0 to 5 degrees is provided inside of the inner layer at the tip portion of the shaft.

A spectrum analyzer selectively receives RF emissions of a designated frequency from the probe in response to an instruction from the controller and feeds emission level signal data to the controller as digital signals. A probe scanning section loaded with the probe is moved bidimensionally by a motor driver under the control of the controller. The controller delivers to a display an emission level distribution signal representative of an electromagnetic distribution based on the emission level data and position data associated with the probe.

摘要： A honeycomb structure as a substrate for a catalyst has at least one partially melted surface on an outer surface of the structure. A roughness of the melted surface is coarser than other surfaces. With the coarse surface, shifting of the honeycomb structure in through-aperture directions and rotation about its axis are prevented, thereby enhancing the reliability of a catalyst converter incorporating the honeycomb structure therein. A method of producing the honeycomb structure includes steps of, after extruding a ceramic batch into a honeycomb structure, drying the extruded honeycomb structure, attaching a chemical compound having a low melting point at a predetermined position onto an outer wall surface of the dried honeycomb structure, and firing the structure to melt at least a part of the outer wall surface, thereby obtaining the honeycomb structure having a melted portion whose roughness is coarser than the other surfaces of the outer wall.
