    • PURPOSE: To obtain a large-sized joined foam glass body in high yield without causing the distortion, etc., by joining plural sheets of molded foam glass articles with a mixture of a porous material containing multivalent cations with water glass as an adhesive.

      2 , containing multivalent cations having the coagulating action on water glass, e.g. Mg, Ca, Al or Ba, is adsorbed in a powder of a porous material, e.g. kaolinite or zeolite, and the resultant porous material containing the coagulating agent for the water glass is mixed with the water glass to prepare an adhesive. The resultant adhesive is then applied to a joining surface of a molded foam glass articles, and the joining surface is then pressed to that of the molded foam article to be joined and give the aimed large-sized joined foam glass material. Thus, the joined foam glass body is obtained without causing the distortion, etc. due to almost no expansion nor contraction of the adhesive to be used before and after the hardening.

    • PURPOSE: The titled composition, obtained by incorporating specific flakes of vermiculite in a polyamide, and having increased strength and elongation.
      CONSTITUTION: A resin composition consisting of 100pts.wt. resin containing a polyamide and flakes of vermiculite having an average aspect ratio ≥5 in an amount of 0.5W100pts.wt. dispersed in the polyamide. The amount of the vermiculite up to about 15pts.wt. increases both the strength and the elongation; however, the amount ≥15pts.wt. increases only the strength and reduces the elongation as compared with those in the absence of the vermiculite. The reduction in elongation is less than that in the case of mica, etc. For improving the strength, the amount is preferably 3W50pts.wt.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a spherical silica-based mesoporous body which is extremely high in the uniformity of particle sizes so that ≥90 wt.% of all particles to be obtained have particle sizes within the range of ±10% of the average particle size, and has a relatively large central pore diameter of 1.8 to 5 nm. SOLUTION: The method for producing a spherical silica-based mesoporous body comprises: a first stage where a silica raw material and a surfactant are mixed in a solvent to obtain porous precursor particles in which the surfactant is introduced into the silica raw material; and a second stage where the surfactant comprised in the porous precursor particles is removed to obtain the spherical silica-based mesoporous body. As the surfactant, alkyl ammonium halide expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 each denotes a 1 to 3C alkyl group; X denotes a halogen atom; and n denotes an integer of 13 to 25, respectively] is used, and, as the solvent, a mixed solvent of water and alcohol in which the alcohol content is 45 to 80 vol.% is used.
