摘要： In a method and mobile station for transmitting speech data over a packet data connection a number of speech data frames are bundled into to a bundled frame, which is transmitted over a packet data connection. Hereby the time when the transmitter needs to transmit can be reduced which in turn will reduce the energy required for transmitting speech data. Hereby the battery life time can be increased. 摘要： In VoIP systems, there is a tradeoff between reducing number of lost packets and end-to-end delay when dealing with jitters. Increasing the jitter buffer space (200) on a mobile wireless terminal (200) reduces the likelihood of lost packets but increases the end-to-end delay. Decreasing the jitter buffer space (200) shortens the end-to-end delay, but there is a greater likelihood of retransmissions and dropped packets. Optimum solution can be arrived at if the jitter buffer space (200) on the mobile wireless terminal (200) can be matched to the scheduling delay. This is difficult to achieve in conventional system because the scheduling delay introduced by the network is unknown to the mobile wireless terminal (200). Thus, constant adjustment is required. One way to overcome this problem is to apprise the mobile wireless terminal (200) of the maximum scheduling delay.

A first Radio Access Bearer RAB is obtained, and the multimedia session is started by communicating media over the first RAB. 摘要： In a method of operating a wireless terminal, the wireless terminal (30) sends a request to participate in a circuit switched call with a circuit switched network. Prior to establishment of the circuit switched call the wireless terminal (30) releases or performs an inter-radio access technology handover of an existing packet switched session with an original packet switched network. The wireless terminal (30) then reconnects to the packet switched session to obtain a reconnected packet switched session. Thereafter the wireless terminal (30) interleaves packet switched transmissions of the reconnected packet switched session with voice transmissions of the circuit switched call.
