    • The invention relates to a method for detecting objects supported by a vehicle A pulse is emitted in an environment by means of a transducer disposed on a vehicle, and the pulse returned by an object in the environment is captured by means of the transducer. The transducer and the object move relative to one another. Transmitting and/or detecting are performed according to a directional characteristic of the transducer, said transducer comprising at least two directional lobes. Signal components of the returned pulse comprising different frequency shifts are separated from each other on the basis of the frequency shift or each associated with one of the directional lobes. One object detection is performed for each of the different signal components and associated directional lobes. The invention further relates to a device for vehicle-supported object detection. Said device comprises a transducer having a directional characteristic comprising at least two directional lobes. The transducer is set up for mounting on a vehicle. A frequency-selective signal separating device connected to the transducer is set up for receiving signals of the transducer and separating said signals into signal components of different frequencies. A running time capturing device connected to the signal separating device is set up for capturing a running time for at least one of the signal components.
