摘要： In general, this disclosure is directed to decoding techniques for interpolating video frames. In particular, this disclosure describes techniques for analyzing block information associated with one or more blocks of pixels and adjusting the block information associated with the block of pixels based on the analysis to reduce artifacts in the interpolated frame. As an example, an interpolation decoder module may analyze and adjust block information associated with one or more blocks of pixels in an interpolated frame. As another example, the interpolation decoder module may adjust block information associated with one or more blocks of pixels in a reference frame that is used for interpolating a skipped video frame. The block information adjustment techniques described in this disclosure may result in a reduction of shaking static background artifacts, blocky artifacts or other types of artifacts in the interpolated frame.

摘要： The invention generally relates to multimedia data processing, and more particularly, to processing operations performed prior to or in conjunction with data compression processing. A method of processing multimedia data includes receiving interlaced video frames, obtaining metadata for the interlaced video frames, converting the interlaced video frames to progressive video using at least a portion of the metadata; and providing the progressive video and at least a portion of the metadata to an encoder for use in encoding the progressive video. The method can also include generating spatial information and bi-directional motion information for the interlaced video frames, and generating progressive video based on the interlaced video frames using the spatial and bi-directional motion information.

The processing unit is further configured to receive a prompt to switch from a first one of the video streams to a second one of the video streams, and in response to the prompt, delay switching to the second one of the video streams until an intra-coded video frame is received in the second one of the video streams.

摘要： In general, this disclosure describes encoding and decoding techniques that facilitate more accurate interpolation of skipped video frames. In particular, techniques are described for obtaining motion information that indicates motion for skipped video frames based on translational motion and at least one other motion parameter and applying the motion information to interpolate the skipped video frames. The motion information may, for example, indicate motion based on a motion model that models three or more motion parameters as opposed to conventional two parameter translational motion vectors. The more accurate motion information may either be generated within the decoder performing the interpolation or be transmitted by an encoder in one or more frames. Either way, the techniques reduce the amount of visual artifacts in the interpolated frame.
