    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and extend travel distance that can be assisted while performing simple assist ratio control on the high speed side in a power-assisted bicycle. SOLUTION: A drive unit for a power-assisted bicycle is provided with a controller for controlling an assist ratio in two stages so as to make the assist ratio constant until bicycle speed reaches the vicinity of continuous traveling average speed, to set the assist ratio to about half of the above-mentioned assist ratio up to the speed of about 1.3 times as fast as the average speed after exceeding the average speed and to stop motor-driven assist at the higher speed than this. At the time of high speed, motor-driven assist is reduced or stopped to suppress battery consumption and to extend assisted travel distance while simplifying control, facilitating adjustment and reducing manufacturing cost. A mechanism part for transmitting tread torque is provided with a cushioning means in a rotating direction, and shock extended to foot power due to stepwise fluctuation of the assist ratio is absorbed to reduce its influence.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain life extension of a bearing for a sun roller and improve durability by integrally constituting a carrier and a planet pin by a precise by molded sintering material, in a device transmitting turning force between the sun roller and the carrier by rotation of a planet roller on its own axis and rotation around. SOLUTION: In a planet roller 7 brought into rolling contact with a periphery of a sun roller 1 connected to an input shaft and an internal periphery of an inner ring 3, a slip bush 7a is press fitted to an internal periphery of this planet roller, movement in a longitudinal direction thereof is regulated by a guide plate 4 and a side surface of a coupling 2. In a carrier 8, in one end of its flange part 8a, the planet roller 7 is pivotally supported through a bush 7a, a planet pin 8b of quantity equal to a number of the planet rollers 7 is integrally formed, in the other end, a recessed part 8b fitting a spur gear 9 is formed, a precision molded product of sintering material is formed. Partly (about 1/2) of the periphery of a tooth part 9a of this spur gear 9 is press fitted to the recessed part 8b of the carrier 8, a contact surface of the carrier 8 and the spur gear 9 is connected by welding.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost of a planetary roller power transmission, compact it, and also provide a planetary roller power transmission excellent in design so as to present nicely. CONSTITUTION:In a planetary roller power transmission, which revolves around a sun roller 3 while rotating around a planetary pin 8 with a plurality of planetary rollers 6, which are rotatably supported by a carrier 12 through the planetary pin 8, pressed to the external peripheral face of the sun roller 3 and the internal peripheral face of an internal roller 7, a casing body 9 and the internal roller 7 are integrated in a body by die-casting the aluminum casing body 9 around the highly strong metal internal roller 7. Therefore, it is not necessary to constitute the whole of the casing body 9 of expensive and highly strong metallic material, and because any bolt or the like is not used, man-hours for machining and assembling are reduced, bringing to the cost reduction. Since the casing body 9 and the internal roller 7 are integrated in a body, the whole of the planetary roller power transmission is compacted.
