    • The present invention provides a real-time nucleic acid amplification method capable of quickly and accurately detecting fluorescence obtained by a nucleic acid amplification method performed in a droplet in a perfect closed system. A real-time nucleic acid amplification reaction method for performing a nucleic acid amplification reaction in a droplet present in a container, wherein the droplet is composed of a nucleic acid amplification reaction liquid including a nucleic acid to be amplified and magnetic particles; the container holds a droplet encapsulating medium immiscible with the nucleic acid amplification reaction liquid forming the droplet, and has a transport surface having a temperature gradient; and at least the droplet encapsulating medium out of the droplet and the droplet encapsulating medium includes a fluorochrome at start of the nucleic acid amplification reaction, the method comprising transporting the droplet together with the magnetic particles by generating a magnetic field by means for applying a magnetic field to start and maintain a nucleic acid amplification reaction so that the droplet is placed on the transport surface at a temperature point at which the nucleic acid synthesis reaction is started and maintained, thereby controlling a temperature of the reaction liquid.

    • An acceleration switch includes a closed container further including a cylindrical housing and a substantially circular metal header plate, a conductive lead terminal inserted through a hole of the header plate and hermetically fixed in the hole, a contact member secured to a distal end of the lead terminal and having a plurality of elastically deformable movable contacts substantially concentric about the distal end of the lead terminal, a conductive inertia ball accommodated in the container and caused to roll in the housing thereby to contact the movable contact, whereby the housing and the contact member are rendered conductive, and a braking member disposed between the movable contacts so as to be capable of urging the inertia ball in a direction of a center of the closed container. The braking member includes an elastically deformable braking portion which is extended so as to normally contact the inertia ball.

    • Disclosed is a sustained release preparation which comprises an active ingredient having a higher release rate at pH 4 compared to that in pH 1.2 or pH 6.8 and exerts a controlled release of the active ingredient in a pH-independent manner. The sustained release preparation comprises ethyl (−)-2-[4-[2-[[(1S,2R)-2-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]amino]ethyl]-2,5-dimethyl-phenoxy]acetate hydrochloride as the active ingredient and a pH-independent gel-forming polymer and contains substantially no pH-controlling agent other than the polymer. The sustained release preparation can release the active ingredient in a pH-independent manner in the range from 1.2 to 6.8 and shows a constant release rate for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, the preparation is useful as a therapeutic agent for frequent urination/incontinence of urine which has a long-lasting effect.
