    • A hydraulic braking system for an automotive vehicle is provided with a power source for generating a hydraulic power pressure, a master cylinder, a hydraulic booster for introducing the hydraulic power pressure and actuating the master cylinder in response to operation of a brake operating member, a wheel brake cylinder for braking a road wheel, a changeover valve, and anti-skid control device for actuating the changeover valve into a position where the wheel brake cylinder is communicated with the booster and regulating the hydraulic pressure in the wheel brake cylinder on the basis of the hydraulic power pressure in the booster when the road wheel is in a slip condition. The hydraulic braking system includes a failure detecting feature for producing a power pressure failure signal when the hydraulic power pressure in the booster is lower than the master cylinder pressure by at least a predetermined value, an anti-skid prohibiting device for prohibiting the anti-skid control operation in accordance with the failure signal, and a detection preventing feature for preventing the failure detecting features from producing the failure signal when the hydraulic power pressure in the booster exceeds a predetermined pressure which is lower than a limit pressure for boosting operation of the booster.

    • A fuel supply system for a boat prevents deterioration in engine startability and includes a vapor separator tank arranged to contain fuel at an inner fuel level “P” at a predetermined height, an injector arranged to supply fuel to an engine, and a high-pressure fuel pump that is disposed outside the vapor separator tank and that is arranged to supply the fuel reserved in the vapor separator tank to the injector. The high-pressure fuel pump includes a negative pressure generating portion arranged to generate negative pressure when the high-pressure fuel pump draws fuel, the negative pressure generating portion being positioned lower than the fuel level “P” in the vapor separator tank.

Consequently, regardless of whether a plurality of cylindrical batteries (Ba) are axially arranged in series or radially juxtaposed, each adjoining two can be connected to each other by using the identical cell-to-cell connection plates (1) for cost reduction. It is also possible to provide a sufficient heat dissipation effect and achieve sufficient robustness and weight saving even when connecting large-sized cylindrical batteries.

    • A propulsion system for a watercraft includes an engine. An air intake device delivers air to a combustion chamber. A throttle valve regulates an amount of the air. A control device sets the throttle valve to a desired position. A remote controller provides the control device with the desired position. The engine can include an auxiliary intake device that delivers supplemental air to the combustion chamber. A control valve normally shuts the supplemental air from the combustion chamber. The control device determines whether an abnormal condition occurs in setting the throttle valve to the desired position. The control device determines whether the amount of the air is insufficient. The control device controls the control valve to allow the supplemental air to move to the combustion chamber when the control device determines that the abnormal condition occurs and the amount of the air is insufficient.

    • An engine incorporates a fuel injector to supply fuel to a combustion chamber defined in an engine body. At least one fuel rail defines a fuel passage through which fuel is supplied to the fuel injector. The fuel rail is mounted to the engine body. A fuel pump pressurizes the fuel. A sensor unit is elastically mounted to the fuel rail. The sensor unit has a fuel pressure sensor that detects a pressure of the fuel pressurized by the fuel pump. The engine body has bosses that project therefrom. The engine body defines bolt holes that extend through the bosses and into the engine body adjacent to the bosses. A threaded section is formed in each bolt hole in the engine body adjacent to the corresponding boss. A bolt is screwed down into each threaded section. A portion of each bolt is spaced apart from an inner surface of a corresponding bolt hole to reduce the effects of thermal expansion of the engine body and the fuel rail.
