    • PURPOSE:To produce gasohol by a simplified process which can accomplish marked reduction of energy consumption and requires low cost of building by subjecting an ethanol/water mixture and gasoline to countercurrent extraction under conditions of specified temperature and specified pressure and cooling the gasoline phase to separate it into a water phase and a gasohol phase. CONSTITUTION:A crude alcohol of a concentration of 10-20wt.% enters a feed line 1, is preheated in heat exchangers 2 and 4, and fed to the top of a countercurrent alcohol extraction tower 6 through a feed line 5. gasoline preheated in heat exchangers 15, 11 and 21 is fed to the bottom of the tower 6 through a feed line 7. Because of its good affinity for gasoline, the ethanol in the water phase is selectively extracted with the gasoline phase (at an extraction temperature of about 80 deg.C or above). The temperature of the gasoline phase leaving the tower 6 through a line 10 is lowered to 10-60 deg.C to effect the phase separation of the water and to thereby markedly decrease the water content of the gasoline phase. Substantially, water-free gasohol is with-drawn from a line 14, cooled, brought into a state of atmospheric pressure by means of a pressure reducing valve 16 and fed to a gasohol storage tank 18.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformize the flow of gas to a large number of gas-liquid dispersing devices, by placing the recirculation pump of the liquid in a cylindrical body outside said cylindrical body and forming a recirculation liquid discharge port and a recirculation liquid supply port into a concentric circular double pipe structure at the central part of the lower part of the cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A gas-liquid dispersing plate equipped with a large number of gas-liquid dispersing devices 9 and a recirculation liquid take-out pipe 5 are provided in the cylindrical body 1 being the main body of a reactor. A recirculation pump 6 is placed outside the cylindrical body 1 and a recirculation liquid is uniformly supplied to the liquid phase part (b) in a plenum chamber from a recirculation liquid take-out pipe 5 and a recirculation liquid supply pipe 7, both of which form a concentric circular double pipe structure (5 is set to an inner pipe) at the central bottom part of the cylindrical body 1, in an axially symmetric manner. A treatment liquid is supplied to the plenum chamber along with the recirculation liquid through the recirculation liquid supply pipe 7. By this method, the liquids can be almost uniformly supplied to the plenum chamber and the variation of the gas-liquid interface being formed can be reduced.
