摘要： In a method for transmitting channel feedback data from a receiver to a transmitter, channel data for a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) tones for one or more spatial or space-time streams corresponding to the communication channel is determined. A compressed form of the channel data is determined. Determining the compressed form includes determining a plurality of angle values associated with the one or more spatial or space-time streams and the one or more OFDM tones of the plurality of OFDM tones. For each of the one or more spatial or space time streams, a per-tone signal to noise ratio (PT-SNR) associated with one or more OFDM tone of the plurality of OFDM tones is determined, and an average signal to noise ratio (avg-SNR) is determined by averaging signal to noise ratio (SNR) values corresponding to one or more OFDM tones of the plurality of OFDM tones. A feedback report is generated to include at least i) the plurality of angle values corresponding to the one or more spatial or space-time streams and the one or more OFDM tones, ii) the PT-SNRs corresponding to the one or more spatial or space-time streams and the one or more OFDM tones, and iii) the avg-SNR corresponding to the one or more spatial or space-time streams. The feedback report is included in a data unit to be transmitted from the receiver to the transmitter.

The coded bits are parsed into the number of spatial streams according to a second set of parsing rules if the coded bits do not satisfy the parsing constraint.

The first field (VHT-SIG1) provides a plurality of indicators to a plurality of receivers. The plurality of training sequences is included in a second field of the preamble. The preamble is formatted such that the first field of the preamble will be transmitted prior to the second field of the preamble being transmitted.

The method includes receiving, in a physical layer (PHY) interface (32) of a first node (22) in the WLAN, data for transmission over the WLAN. The received data are divided in the PHY interface into a sequence of data blocks (42) having respective lengths, and encoding the data blocks using an error correcting code (ECC). The encoded data blocks are encapsulated in a PHY protocol data unit (PPDU 24) together with encoding metadata including at least an indication of the respective lengths of the data blocks. The first communication device determines whether a second NDP was received correctly from a second communication device as part of the first ranging measurement exchange. In response to determining that the second NDP was not received correctly, the first communication device commences a second ranging measurement exchange, including transmitting a second PPDU that includes a second NDPA frame as part of the second ranging measurement exchange.
