    • A fastener tape according to the invention includes a tape main body portion and an element attachment portion in which a core thread is knitted. The tape main body portion includes a first tape main body portion region at the element attachment portion and a second tape main body portion region. A wale interval between a wale of the element attachment portion adjacent to the first tape main body portion region and a wale constituting the first tape main body portion region is narrower than that of the second tape main body portion region. Therefore, while the flexibility of the second tape main body portion region is ensured, a tape strength and an abrasion resistance are improved, and further, when a fastener element is formed, this prevents resin leakage through knitted loops of the element attachment portion.

    • A motor drive unit is adapted to detect a motor lock-up condition (in which an electric motor is accidentally locked during driving) based on the fact that motor drive current increases in that event. Then, a capacitor for generating a voltage signal is charged with an arbitrarily adjustable charging current to overcome the motor lock-up. To do this, an IC is formed to incorporate therein such components as a first discharging circuit for discharging the electric charge of the capacitor and a hysteresis-type comparison circuit for comparing the charging current with a threshold level to thereby adjust the charging current suitable for the motor used. Such a versatile IC as described above enables adjustment of the motor startup trial period for individual motors having different characteristics.

    • A Hall device of the present invention includes a cross-shaped magnetometric sensing surface, a pair of power terminal portions and a pair of output terminal portions. The surface is formed of a rectangular and mutually opposed extensions provided on each side of the rectangular. The pair of power terminal portions is provided on a pair of the opposed extensions at the surface. The pair of output terminal portions is provided on another pair of the opposed extensions at the surface. Slits extending in each opposed direction completely split the power portions and the output portions and in partway split each extension at the surface, and each of the slits is provided with a separation layer of an insulator. An outline formed of the surface, the power portions and the output portions is quadrature-symmetrical with the center. The Hall device of this structure is highly sensitive to a magnetic field.
