    • The invention relates to a method for accessing at least one service. A host device is coupled to a chip. The chip stores data relating to at least one test Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) type application and/or data relating to at least one SIM type application. The host device sends to the chip a command for switching from a first application to a second application. The first application is either a test SIM type application or a SIM type application. The second application is either a SIM type application or a test SIM type application. And the chip carries out an activation of the second application and a de-activation of the first application. The invention also relates to a corresponding system for accessing at least one service.

    • Systems and methods for securing an embedded system are disclosed. An embedded system comprises a hardware subsystem including physical components of the embedded system, a software subsystem including a software application and a program code, and a programmable logic subsystem programmed to monitor one or more parts of the hardware and software subsystems and interactions thereof to detect tampering of the embedded system. The programmable logic subsystem is capable of being activated by a security function in the software subsystem or by a special hardware component in the hardware subsystem. The activation of the programmable logic subsystem facilitate a coupling of the hardware, software, and the programmable logic subsystems. The program code can be used to dynamically re-program the programmable logic subsystem.

    • A printable label assembly includes a printable label having an adhesive coating applied to a first surface thereof to facilitate attachment of the label to an article. The label is configured to receive a printed image on a second surface thereof. A removable backing is releasably attached to the adhesive coating and has at least three sections: a removable primary section releasably attached to a central portion of the adhesive coating of the label and being configured to be removed from the central portion to expose the central portion for attachment to the article; and a pair of removable handle sections releasably attached to outward portions of the adhesive coating of the label, the handle sections being configured to remain on the adhesive coating of the label after removal of the primary section to provide at least two handling points for manipulation by a user to assist the user in applying the label to the article.
