    • An automatic system for use in a motor vehicle has an outer webbing, both ends of which are secured to a vehicle door and an inner webbing, one end of which is connected to the intermediate portion of the outer webbing through a ring joint movable along the outer webbing and the other end of which is retracted by a retractor on a vehicle floor. A guide lever is provided at an inner side of an occupant's seat, which includes a main body fixed to the inner side of the seat and a webbing guide portion on the top of the main body. The webbing guide portion has an opening through which the inner webbing passes and is rotatable around an axis extending laterally of the vehicle, whereby the webbing guide portion presents a suitable position and angle to guide the inner webbing at any condition, for example, with or without an occupant on the seat.

    • An anchor device for a seatbelt system which includes an anchor plate which is U-shaped in cross-section when seen from the front of a vehicle and which has an outer end of a passenger restraining belt fastened to one side thereof and a runner piece coupled to the other side of said anchor plate. A roof lining is inserted into the central region of the U-shaped anchor plate and the runner piece together with the anchor plate moves along said roof side whereby when the runner piece has moved as far forward as possible along the roof side, the outer end of the belt is moved further towards the front of the vehicle than the runner piece to provide a sufficient space for the passenger to enter or exit the vehicle.

    • A semiconductor device comprises a first MIS transistor and a second MIS transistor. The first MIS transistor includes a first gate insulating film formed on a first active region, and a first gate electrode formed on the first gate insulating film. The second MIS transistor includes a second gate insulating film formed on a second active region and made of an insulating material different from that of the first gate insulating film, and a second gate electrode formed on the second gate insulating film. Upper regions of the first gate electrode and the second gate electrode are electrically connected to each other on the isolation region located between the first active region and the second active region, and lower regions thereof are separated from each other with a sidewall insulating film made of the same insulating material as that of the first gate insulating film being interposed therebetween.
