    • A receiver for the CDMA system, in order to reduce a power consumption during a suspension period of intermittent receiving operation, monitors a suspension period t1 by means of a low-power timer 51 so that a VC-TCXO 1, a reference signal group generation unit 2 and a receiving unit 3 are turned off and a modem unit 4 is set to a sleep state. Upon resumption of receiving operation, a high-accuracy timer 44 is supplied with a start (d) to require counting of time t3 and a part of a received signal is stored. A PN code phase of stored data is calculated in a PN code phase calculator 46 during a period t3 to obtain an indication value i for a phase deviation. State vectors for short code and long code and further a reception time t4 are calculated on the basis of the indication value i to be set. When the high-accuracy timer 44 counts t3 and produces 0V(d), demodulation operation by a rake demodulation unit 40, a demultiplexing unit 41 and a descrambler unit 42 is started in accordance with the setting and is continued during the reception time t4.

    • This invention relates to a culture medium used to efficiently propagate and acclimatize tissue cultured plantlets and thereafter obtain mature plantlets, a method to produce said medium, and a tissue culture method using said medium. The plant tissue culture medium is a novel plant tissue culture medium comprised in the main of vermiculite with an average particle diameter between 0.1-10 mm and cellulose fibers of an average fiber length between 0.01-5 mm. The culture method uses said culture medium in a light-transmissible container equipped at least in part with a porous gas permeable film, preferably having an air permeability between 1-50 sec/100 ml as measured in accordance with JIS standard P8117. The solid culture medium formed from a specific type of vermiculite and cellulose fibers enables the culturing process as a whole to be performed easily and efficiently. Root development and plant growth are good, and healthy plants can be produced in a single culturing without the need for an acclimatization stage. Plantlets can also be transplanted directly without damaging the roots. Moreover, when this medium is used in combination with a light-transmissible container equipped with a gas permeable film, the aforementioned efficacy is noticeably improved.

    • In a transmission power control circuit having a power amplifier, a bypass circuit is selectively switched from the power amplifier on low power transmission by the use of first and second switches and a circulator which has three ports. When the bypass circuit is connected to one port of the circulator through the first and the second switches, a signal which is not amplified by the power amplifier is circulated to a remaining port of the circulator for connection of the power amplifier and is reflected at the remaining port to be sent to an output port of the circulator without attenuation. On connection of the bypass circuit, the power amplifier is turned off to reduce current consumption therein.
