摘要： To prevent an n-channel thin-film transistor from being deteriorated by hot holes generated in a gate-negative pulse mode. A thin polysilicon film 10 is provided with a p-type semiconductor region 13 in contact with a channel region 14. The p-type semiconductor region 13 is electrically connected to nowhere except the channel region 14. Holes induced on the surface due to a gate-negative pulse are further supplied from the p-type semiconductor region 13. An electric field established by the gate-negative pulse is relaxed by the holes, fewer hot holes are injected into the gate oxide film, and the TFT characteristics are less deteriorated.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a plurality of video signal lines for supplying video signal voltages to the pixels, respectively, and a drive circuit for selecting a voltage level of a gray scale voltage varying periodically. As one of the video signal voltages corresponding to display data to be supplied to one of the plurality of pixels. The drive circuit has a plurality of processing circuits connected to each other in series by a processing result transmitting line, and display data lines are formed to intersect with the processing result transmitting line for supplying the display data to the processing circuits. The processing circuits are arranged in correspondence with crossing points of the display data lines and the processing result transmitting line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes plural pixels, video signal lines coupled to the pixels, a video signal line drive circuit, a power supply for supplying a time-varying gray scale voltage, and a display control circuit for supplying N-bit display data and N kinds of time-varying control signals. The video signal line drive circuit includes: plural switching circuits each associated with a respective one of the video signal lines and comprising N switching elements. The N switching elements each select one of the respective one of the N kinds of time control signals and a first fixed voltage in accordance with the display data. The N kinds of time control signals are such pulses as to uniquely determine a time represented by the display data based upon it. Plural logic circuits each associated with the respective video signal lines are supplied with the selected signals from the switching elements, and are configured so as to change state when all the selected signals are the first fixed voltage. The output circuits each associated with a respective one of the video signal lines are configured so as to supply a voltage level of the gray scale voltage at an instant when a corresponding one of the logic circuits changes state, to the video signal lines.
