摘要： A hub unit having a sensor comprises a hub unit 1 having a wheel-side raceway member 4, a body-side raceway member 5 and two rows of rolling bodies 6, and a sensor device 2 provided on the hub unit 1. The body-side raceway member 5 has a cylindrical portion 16 and a flange portion 17 provided with an insertion hole for a bolt for fastening the hub unit 1 to a vehicle body. The sensor device 2 has a magnetic sensor 31 supported by a support member 33 fixed to the flange portion 17 and serving as a displacement sensor for detecting variations in the distance between the sensor and the cylindrical portion 16. A magnetized portion 34 is provided on the cylindrical portion 16 at a location opposed to the sensor.

摘要： A bearing apparatus includes a hollow shaft provided around an outer peripheral surface with a bearing fitting region, and a rolling bearing having an inner ring fitted around the bearing fitting region of the hollow shaft. A shaft end of the hollow shaft is bent outwardly in a diametrical direction, thereby being caulked on an outer end surface of the inner ring. The bearing fitting region has a hardened layer in a region from a first position corresponding to an inner end surface of the inner ring of the rolling bearing to a second position before a position corresponding to an outer end surface of the inner ring, and has a non-hardened layer in another region from the outer end surface corresponding position of the inner ring to the shaft end. The second position representative of a caulked side end portion of the hardened layer is defined based on a predetermined relational expression.

摘要： To reduce the size and weight of an oil tank for a dry sump type lubricating system. A separate oil tank of a dry sump type lubricating system is mounted on the front surface of a front case cover constituting part of a crankcase divided into front and rear parts. An effective volume portion, in which oil supplied from the crankcase side via scavenging pumps and cooled by an oil cooler is contained, is provided in the oil tank. The bottom portion of the effective volume portion is connected to a feed pump on the crankcase side via an outlet side passage. A tank side pipe portion extending rearwardly through the oil tank is integrally provided at a portion of the oil tank higher than the oil level in the oil tank. The tank side pipe portion is connected to a crankcase side pipe portion integrally provided on an upper portion of the front case cover to form an overflow passage. The overflow passage functions as a pressure-equalization passage for equalizing the pressure in the oil tank with the pressure in the crankcase, and allows overflowed oil in the oil tank to readily flow into the crankcase through the upper portion of the front case cover.
