摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of liquid in an electric double layer capacitor by using a ternary ammonium salt or terniary phosphonium salt of an organic or inorganic acid as a solute in electrolytic solution CONSTITUTION:A current collection body with a tab terminal 3 is coated with polarized electrode made of activated carbon and carbon black. An electrolytic capacitor element, in which a pair of electrode bodies are turned with a separation paper, is formed. The capacitor element is impregnated with an electrolytic solution made terniary ammonium salt or terniary phosphonium salt as a solute and stored in an outer case with rubber sealing material 4. When an electric field is applied, the electrolytic solution becomes strongly alkalinic in the vicinity of the tab terminal fixed on the cathode side. Then, a pole 3a of the tub terminal 3 is corroded and the rubber sealing material is swelled so that liquid spill in life test at high temperatures can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte layer made of conductive polymer compound is formed on an aluminum anode foil reinforced at four sides with a reinforcing frame. That is, since an anode foil used for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is generally thin of several tens of microns, the foil is flexible. When it is used in combination with solid electrolyte, a leakage current is increased even by a small impact during manufacturing. Accordingly, the four sides of the aluminum anode foil are reinforced by a reinforcing frame to remove its defect, thereby reducing the leakage current. Thus, the leakage current by the use of conductive polymer compound as the solid electrolyte is reduced to obtain a solid electrolytic capacitor having stable performance.

According to the electrolytic polymerization method, anions used as a dopant and a nonionic surface active agent are dissolved in an electrolyte, in which a monomer of the compound is dissolved, and electrolysis is performed with an anode foil formed with a dielectric oxide film used as an anode. Polypyrrole and polythiophene or these dielectrics are preferable as the compound from the viewpoint of easiness of polymerization, stability and conductivity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease capacitance deteriorating rate, by forming a positive electrode of an aromatic condensed macromolecule compound, and a negative electrode of active carbon powder or a molding of active carbon fiber, and using electrolyte which is prepared by dissolving a specified quaternary onium salt into an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2 and a separator 3 are sufficiently impregnated with electrolyte. Thereafter, the unit parts of a cap 4 and a can 5 are caulked and sealed through a packing 6. The positive electrode 1 is formed of an aromatic condensed macromolecule compound. The negative electrode 2 is formed of active carbon powder or active carbon fiber. As the electrolyte, a liquid wherein a quaternary onium salt shown by the Formula I is dissolved into an organic solvent is used. Then, self-discharge is prevented, and charging efficiency is improved. In the Formula, R1-R4 are alkyl groups having the carbon number of 1-15, aryl group having the carbon number of 6-15 or hydrogen atoms. However all of them do not become hydrogen atoms. X is SF4, PF6, ClO4, AsF4, SbF6, AlCl4 or RfSO3. Rf is a fluoroalkyl group having the carbon number of 1-8.

The solvent is of mixture solvent of at least one type selected from sulfolane, 3-methylsulfolane and 2,4-dimethylesulfolane and the solvent represented by the formula I. The content ratio of the formula I in the mixture solvent is 10-80vol.%. The electrolyte eliminates various problems due to the decomposition of the solvent by the application of the voltage, and it can be used under a high temperature conditions for a long period of time.

Such a conductive high molecular compound is used as a part of the dopant to provide the conductive high molecules with high conductivity as well as the repairability of the dielectric oxide film. Consequently, any leakage current from a capacitor can be minimized.
