Examples of the arom. group include a phenyl group, naphtyl group, etc., and the examples of the alkyl group include aliphat. alkyl groups such as methyl and ethyl. The generation of the cracks is thereby prevented and the transparency is improved even if the film thickness is large. The volumetric phase type hologram recording medium which is not degraded in the diffraction efficiency as compared to the homopolymer of the vinyl carbazole is thereby obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To vary a projected image and to facilitate production of the title mirror by impressing the voltage corresponding to the image to be displayed to a piezo-electric material in the state of projecting light to the mirror having the specular face which can be deformed cooperatively with the deformation of the piezo-electric material. CONSTITUTION:The light is projected by using a halogen lamp 3 and a lens 4 to the surface of the gold film 1c of the mirror 1 consisting of an aluminum nitride film 1a, an electrode 1b and the gold film 1c and the reflected light thereof is projected on a black board 2. The projected image is formed when 40V voltage is impressed to the gold paste electrode 1b. The image disappears when the impression of the voltage is suspended. If the impression of the voltage is repeatedly turned on and off, the image appears and disappears accordingly. The projected image is thereby changed and deformed as desired and since the constitution is simple, the production is easy.

CONSTITUTION:The transparent elastic body 1 is housed in a container constituted of a bottom plate 2 and side walls 3 formed of glass, etc. The elastic body 1 is constituted of the 1st elastic body 1-1 and 2nd elastic body 1-2 laminated in the direction of an optical axis (h). An aperture plate 4 as a deforming member to deform the elastic body 1 is freely movably provided on the side walls 3. The element is so constituted that, of the elastic body 1 consisting of the plural elastic bodies, the modulus E1 of elasticity of the 1st elastic body 1-1 on the projection side is larger than the modulus E2 of elasticity of the 2nd elastic body 1-2 adjacent to the 1st elastic body 1-1. The variable focus optical element which is deformed while the spherical face or the desired aspherical face is maintained at all times is thereby obtd. if the initial shapes and moduli of elasticity of the elastic body 1-1 and the elastic body 1-2 are adequately selected.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a resin for an optical element which has a high refractive index and permits the change of the refractive index with the specified Abbe number by incorporating a specific repeating unit therein. CONSTITUTION:This resin has the biphenylene repeating unit expressed by the formula, where X is a halogen selected from chlorine and bromine, n1 is 0-4 integer, Y is a group selected from -OR, -SR, etc., and -TeO2R. R is a group selected from hydrogen, alkyl group, etc., n2 and n3 are 1-5 integer in the sum thereof, n3 is >=1 integer. The resin which has the specified Abbe number and the refractive index ranging 1.57-1.75 is more particularly adequate for said resin, for which an amorphous polymer is more preferable. The nonuniformity of density hence the nonuniformity of the refractive index are resulted if the polymerized chain length having a strong blocking property is formed in the case of a copolymer even if the copolymer is amorphous; therefore, the resin forming the polymerized chain length having a high random property is more adequate.
