摘要： A golf club head has a body having a top, a sole, a toe end, a heel end, and a forward wall. The forward wall defines a front opening about which a face support is disposed. The face support receives a face plate, thereby enclosing the front opening of the body. The face support includes portions proximate to the top, the toe end, and the heel end, each portion having a peripheral member extending rearward from the forward wall and a rear member extending inward from the peripheral member, with respect to the front opening. The face support can be combined with a preferred face construction and weight elements to optimize club head performance to help a golfer achieve greater distance and control.

摘要： Golf clubs, clubheads for golf clubs, and methods for making clubheads are disclosed. An exemplary clubhead includes a rear component and a front component affixed to the rear component. The rear component is made at least partially of a FeAlMn alloy having a density in a range of 6.2 to 7.2 g/cm3. The front component includes at least a portion of the face of the clubhead and is made of a material other than the FeAlMn alloy used to make the rear component. For example, the FeAlMn alloy contains (by weight) maximally 1% C, 27-32% Mn, 6-10% Al, 3-5% Cr, maximally 1% Si, and the balance being Fe. The reduced density of the rear component, compared to the density of conventional iron-type clubheads, provides more discretionary mass for manipulation in the clubhead, without sacrificing performance of the face of the clubhead.

A sheet is integrally formed with tabs along opposed axial edges of the sheet, and the sheet can be bent into a tubular configuration with the tabs along one edge engaging tab holes along the other edge and vice-versa to hold the sheet in the tubular configuration. Also, a skylight dome fastener adaptor includes a hollow body, and ribs are formed on the outer surface to engage a hole in a skylight dome to impede rotation of the body in the hole when a fastener is disposed in the adaptor and threadably engaged with a dome flashing. Additionally, various quick connect zip ties and clips are disclosed for quickly and easily engaging components of a skylight assembly.

摘要： A tubular skylight is supported in a building between the ceiling and the roof of the building by a support ring that is connected to the ceiling joists or to the ceiling dry wall. Specifically, a tube ring is engaged with the tube of the skylight to in turn engage the support ring and thereby support the tube. Also, the skylight includes a cover seal that establishes a seal between the roof dome of the skylight and the tube, and that also spaces the flashing of the skylight from the tube to prevent galvanic corrosion and to inhibit heat transfer between the flashing and the tube. The tube includes an upper segment that receives a lower segment, and an expansion seal is positioned between the segments such that the segments can move relative to each other to absorb thermal stresses, with the expansion seal maintaining a seal between the segments.

A critical thickness is generally associated with a higher dent resistance than crowns that are substantially thinner or thicker. Wood-type golf club heads also have crowns with radii and spans that are substantially equivalent to critical crown radii and critical crown spans. Such wood-type golf club heads also exhibit surprisingly superior dent resistance than would be expected for a crown of such thickness.

In certain embodiments, a composite face plate for a club-head comprises a lay-up of multiple, composite prepreg plies. The face plate can be made by first forming an oversized lay-up of multiple prepreg plies having a central portion and a sacrificial portion surrounding the central portion. The lay-up is at least partially cured in a mold under elevated pressure and heat. The lay-up is then removed from the mold and the sacrificial portion is removed from the central portion to form a composite part that is substantially free of defects.

At least a portion of the face plate can be made of composite. E.g., the face plate can include a composite plate made of carbon fiber and cured epoxy resin. The strike face of the face plate can include a composite plate and a cap bonded to the composite plate on the strike face. The cap can be made of a metallic material, such as (but not limited to) titanium alloy or stainless steel.
