    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a negative-working lithographic printing plate exhibiting an improved clean-out and having shelf life stability with improved clean-out ability. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the negative-working lithographic printing plate comprises the steps of (1) providing a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising on a polished and anodized aluminum support, having a hydrophilic surface, a coating comprising (i) polymer particles which are core-shell particles having a hydrophobic heat-softenable core and a hydrophilic shell and (ii) an infrared light absorbing agent, (2) exposing the coating to heat, thereby inducing coalescence of the polymer particles at exposed areas of the coating, and (iii) developing the precursor by applying a gum solution to the coating, thereby removing non-exposed areas of the coating from the support.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive image forming element which exhibits an improved image-contrast and reduced staining after processing. SOLUTION: The heat-sensitive lithographic printing plate precursor comprises in the order given (i) a lithographic base having a hydrophilic surface, (ii) an image recording layer comprising hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles and (iii) a contrast layer, wherein the precursor comprises an infrared absorbing compound present in at least one of said image recording layer or contrast layer and wherein the contrast layer further comprises a colorant capable of providing a visible image after exposure and development of the precursor and wherein the image recording layer is substantially free of the colorant.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet processing method which can be carried out in a planographic printing plate precursor and minimizes the risk of damaging or contaminating electronic and optical parts. SOLUTION: A printing method including the following stages (i)-(v) is disclosed; (i) a planographic printing plate precursor comprising a support and a heat sensitive or photosensitive coating is prepared, (ii) the coating is imagewise exposed to heat or light, (iii) the planographic printing plate precursor is mounted in the printing unit of a printing press having a dampening system and an ink supply system before the stage (ii) or (iv), (iv) the coating is developed by supplying a processing solution to the coating through the dampening system to obtain a planographic printing plate and (v) a single-fluid ink or dry graphic ink is supplied to the planographic printing plate through the ink supply system to carry out printing. This printing method enables on- press processing of a printing plate material which requires wet processing.
