The illumination unit illuminates the outer and inner parts of the body in accordance with a signal of the sensor to allow the user to check out a washing process in the dark without opening the door.

    • A washing machine and a method for providing a service of the same are provided to analyze an error accurately by converting each error into numerical codes respectively and comparing the number codes with information stored in a database. A washing machine comprises a sensor(10), a microprocessor(30), and a display unit(40). The sensor senses an error of other elements of the washing machine. The microprocessor senses the error of the elements on the basis of a signal sent from the sensor, converts each of the errors into certain combination of numerical codes respectively, and stores the combination. The display unit displays the number codes on a display when the error is sensed.

    • A dryer and a method for controlling the dry time are provided to drive the dryer more efficiently even when the laundry is in a small amount and to set dry time more accurately by measuring humidity of the laundry using a peak-to-peak method. A method for controlling dry time comprises the steps: measuring humidity by using a humidity sensor of a dryer(S10); calculating an average value of humidity by using difference between maximum and minimum humidity value measured within predetermined range(S20); setting entire dry time by using the average value(S30); measuring voltage outputted from a temperature sensor and the humidity sensor after initially setting the dry time(S50); and re-setting the remaining dry time when the temperature sensor and the humidity sensor output same voltages(S60).
