    • PURPOSE: A skin composition for external use containing Hisbiscior cortex extract is provided to ensure skin barrier strengthening, wound healing, and anti-aging. CONSTITUTION: A skin composition for external use contains 0.1-10 weight% of Hisbiscior cortex extract as an active ingredient. The Hisbiscior cortex extract enhances PPARs(peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors), fillagrin, transglutaminase(TGase1), or HAS2(hyaluronic acid synthase 2). The Hisbiscior cortex extract enhances the gene expression of HMOX1(heme oxygenase 1), TNF alpha(tumor necrosis factor alpha), and IL-1beta(interleukin-1beta). The composition is used in the form of a lotion, eye cream, massage cream, cleansing cream, cleansing foam, essence, pack, or ointment.

    • A screening method of anti-gray hair ingredient is provided to improve accuracy of screening, and reduce the time and expenses to be required for the screening, thereby efficiently preventing gray hair. The screening method of anti-gray hair ingredient comprises the steps of: treating the transformed cell line with the candidate anti-gray hair ingredient, and culturing the treated cell line in the culture medium; measuring the production amount of GLuc(Gaussia luciferase) gene existing in the culture medium; removing hairs from the back of vitiligo mouse and spreading the candidate anti-gray hair ingredient on the hair-removed back of mouse; and measuring the melanin amount in the new born hair from the back of vitiligo mouse, wherein the transformed cell line is produced by transforming a host cell line with an expression vector pMITF-GLuc containing microphtalmia-associated factor(MITF) promoter, GLuc gene, NeoR(neomycin resistant) gene and AmpR(ampicilin resistant) gene.
