    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic structure and an instantaneous force generating device that achieve reduction in size and weight while ensuring flexibility.
SOLUTION: The elastic structure 1 includes two or more elastic bodies 2, each connecting rigid body 3 (comprising one joining block) and each connecting rigid body 4 (comprising a pair of joining blocks), a first fixing rigid body 5, and a second fixing rigid body 6. The two or more elastic bodies 2 are arranged side by side in a first direction X so as to be torsionally deformable around an axis in parallel with a second direction Y orthogonal to the first direction X. The connecting rigid bodies 3, 4 respectively connect the elastic bodies 2. The first fixing rigid body 5 is joined to the elastic body 2A at a position not overlapping with a joint of each joining block of the connecting rigid body 4, joined to the elastic body 2A located at one end in the first direction X, in a direction orthogonal to the second direction Y. The second fixing rigid body 6 is joined to the elastic body 2B at a position not overlapping with a joint of each joining block of the connecting rigid body 4, joined to the elastic body 2B located at the other end in the first direction X, in the direction orthogonal to the second direction Y.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator to sense a subtle feel when inserting a catheter. SOLUTION: This catheter apparatus 10 is a medical device for inserting the catheter 30 into a tube to be inserted such as a blood vessel 20 by a manual operation. This catheter apparatus 10 includes the catheter 30, a detection section 40, a control section 50 and a feel transmission section 60. When a movable portion 72 of a wire rod 70 inserted into the blood vessel 20 is deformed by coming into contact with some sort of obstacle, the control section 50 amplifies a detection signal by a prescribed amplification factor to generate a motor control signal V consisting of pulse waves based on the amplified detection signal. In the feel transmission section 60, a stepping motor 66 intermittently actuates a resistance force application member 64 in an X2 direction by the number of times when motor control signals V generated by the control section 50 are input. A sliding section 64b of the resistance force application member 64 thus pushes the wire rod 70 in the X2 direction, so that the operator senses, in his/her fingertips, the resistance force in the inverse direction of the insertion direction.
