    • A nonvolatile memory device includes a semiconductor substrate, a device isolation film, a tunnel insulation film, a plurality of floating gates, an inter-gate dielectric film, and a control gate pattern. Trenches are formed in the substrate that define active regions therebetween. The device isolation film is in the trenches in the substrate. The tunnel insulation film is on the active regions of the substrate. The plurality of floating gates are each on the tunnel insulation film over the active regions of the substrate. The inter-gate dielectric film extends across the floating gates and the device isolation film. The control gate pattern is on the inter-gate dielectric film and extends across the floating gates. A central region of the device isolation film in the trenches has an upper major surface that is recessed below an upper major surface of a surrounding region of the device isolation film in the trenches. An edge of the recessed central region of the device isolation film is aligned with a sidewall of an adjacent one of the floating gates.

    • A novel structure of antenna includes a polar liquid, a container made of an insulating material and containing the polar liquid, and a feeder connected to the polar liquid contained in the container. Then, the polar liquid acts as a radiator. A wideband antenna includes a radiator constructed of a conductor having an electrical resonant length corresponding to a unique resonant frequency. The radiator having a feeder at one end connected to an outer circuit. A container made of an insulating material contains at least a portion of the radiator therein or disposed adjacent to a portion of the radiator, and a polar liquid contained inside the container affects electromagnetic flow of the radiator in order to change the unique resonant frequency of the radiator.

    • A rotary engine includes pistons disposed in operating chambers of a rotary member. The pistons are guided by guiding pieces engaged in a guiding groove formed at a housing so that the operating chambers are expanded. Each of the operating chambers includes an intake/exhaust port, which is opened or closed by a shutoff valve and a shutoff plate guided along guiding grooves formed at the housing. An exhaust chamber is caved in the housing so that an explosion stroke is carried out at the rear part of the exhaust chamber, whereby a rotating force is obtained. Compressed air is supplied into the operating chambers through air-supplying channels, which are opened or closed by shutoff valves, so that gas left in the operating chambers is forcibly discharged. Consequently, introduction of lubricant through the intake/exhaust ports or leakage of pressure is prevented, and large power is obtained.
