    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerated particle production method which can stably obtain regenerated particles having necessary properties as a papermaking filler or a coating pigment.
      SOLUTION: When the regenerated particles are produced by subjecting a material 10 to be treated to dehydration, heat treatment, and crushing, the heat treatment is performed by dividing it into a first heat treatment process (42), a second heat treatment process (14) whose temperature is higher than that of the first heat treatment process (42), and a third heat treatment process (32) whose temperature is higher than that of the second heat treatment process (14). In the first heat treatment process (42), a horizontal rotary kiln is used whose supply port 42A side end is an increased diameter portion 42X increasing the diameter toward the transfer direction and whose discharge port 42B side end is a reduced diameter portion 42Y reducing the diameter toward the transfer direction. Hot air is supplied through the increased diameter portion 42X, and gas inside the kiln is discharged through the reduced diameter portion 42Y.
