    • A transfer of control to a batch application is intercepted, wherein a batch front-end routine receives control in place of the batch application and performs initialization processing. This initialization processing comprises issuing a DLI restart call and issuing a DLI checkpoint call. If the DLI restart call returns a checkpoint ID, then one or more databases associated with the batch application are repositioned. The transfer of control to the batch application is then resumed, whereby the batch application restarts from the checkpoint ID, if the checkpoint ID was returned by the DLI restart call, in a manner transparent to the batch application.

    • An apparatus, method, and system for modifying application windows based on projection surface characteristics. One embodiment of the apparatus includes a determination module, an identification module, and a modification module. The determination module determines one or more characteristics of a projection surface including detrimental characteristics. The identification module identifies one or more application windows for displayed within the projected image. The one or more application windows correspond to one or more applications executing on a processor. One or more of the identified application windows are for projection on at least one location of one or more detrimental characteristics. The modification module modifies one or more of a size, a shape, and a position of at least a portion of the one or more identified application windows to avoid the at least one location of the one or more detrimental characteristics.

    • For accessing a database, a request attribute module constructs a request attribute list for a data value name received in a request block. The request attribute list associates the data value name with an attribute name and with a schema name. A schema name module adds the schema name from the request attribute list to a schema names list in response to the schema name not being included in the schema names list. An attribute name module adds the attribute name from the request attribute list to an attribute names list in response to the attribute name not being included in the attribute names list. A query build module builds a query statement directed to a target database from the schema names list and the attribute names list.

    • An apparatus, system, and method for quantifying, aggregating and bundling green incentives based on green construction enables applying at least a portion of the credits/incentives to financial transactions. Quantification includes estimating and/or monitoring usage of utilities, comparing the usage to a predetermined baseline value, and valuating an effectual energy savings that includes actual savings plus incentive values. Quantification relies on a database, which may include credits, deductions, and other green incentives data that contribute to the effectual savings. The effectual savings may be applied to early repayment of a mortgage loan, improved terms for the loan, investment in securities, and/or other trading. The method standardizes values of green incentives in energy units and/or monetary units. The method aids in qualifying the building projects based on a concrete estimation of the effectual energy savings. The method forms a bridge between green or sustainable/renewable technologies and the financial institutions and markets.
