    • 1465778 Striking clocks KIENZLE UHRENFABRIKEN GmbH 19 June 1974 [18 Dec 1973] 27080/74 Heading G3T A striking clock mechanism comprises a bell 4 mounted on the case 1 of the clock, a hammer 6 supported adjacent the bell, and a cam 7 with an inclined ramp surface 16, 17 mounted on a hand shaft of the clock or a shaft connected thereto, the cam as it rotates engaging the hammer to displace it away from the bell and then releasing the hammer which thus strikes the bell at periodic intervals. As shown the cam is fixed to a shaft 8 provided for hand setting and geared to the minute hand shaft 15. The cam is held by a set screw so that it can be angularly adjusted on the shaft to cause striking e.g. on the hour. In an alternative arrangement, the cam is fixed on the shaft 15 and the minute hand (12), Fig. 3 (not shown) is adjustably held on the shaft by a nut (13) and a plate (9) locked to the shaft.

    • 1337351 Electronic watches KIENZLE UHRENFABRIKEN GmbH 29 Dec 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 60292/71 Heading G3T A drive circuit for maintaining and stabilizing the amplitude of oscillation of a mechanical oscillatory system e.g. in a watch, is illustrated in Fig.1 and includes a drive transistor 3, first and second control transistors 1, 2, and drive and control coils 4, 5 respectively. In an alternative circuit Fig.2 (not shown) the base of transistor 2 is connected to the junction of a pair of resistors connected in series across the emitter/collector path of transistor 3. In a further modification the control coil and capacitor are transposed. The control coil 5 is inductively coupled to the mechanical system and when a voltage of appropriate polarity is induced therein transistor 3 and to some extent 1, 2 are rendered conducting at the same time. The degree of conductivity of 1, 2 depends upon the magnitude of the induced voltage pulse and the amplitude of oscillation. The more conductive the control transistors 1, 2 become, the less conductive will be the drive transistor 3 and vice-versa, since the working point of 3 depends upon the charge in a capacitor 7 and the potential at the junction of the transistor 1 and R6 which form a voltage divider.

    • 1299280 Clocks KIENZLE UHRENFABRIKEN GmbH 1 May 1970 [2 May 1969(2)] 21134/70 Heading G3T An electric clock for a car is sealed against the entry of dust and the emission of noise by resilient supports for its mechanism 1 which is enclosed between a mounting plate 6 and a plastics cover 5. A mechanism back plate 2 carries a terminal pin 3 with a soft resilient sealing ring 4 which is compressed between the plate 2 and the cover 5. The back plate 2 also carries pillars whose front ends 9 extend into the mounting plate 6 which is attached to the cover 5 by press-stud connectors or by pins 7 which are integral with the cover 5 and are distorted after assembly. The attachment of the pillar ends 9 may be through resilient conical buffers 8 seated in corresponding bores in the mounting plate 6, or the latter may itself be made of resilient material. A dial 15 is centred by a boss 16 on the mounting plate 6 and is retained by lips 14 on projections 13 of the cover 5. A further boss 12 on the mounting plate 6 forms a bearing for a setting spindle 11.
