    • Embodiments described herein are directed to the manufacturing of tag devices, authenticating such devices, authorizing a tag reader apparatus to read tag devices external to the tag reader apparatus, and enabling an authorized tag reader apparatus to form a secured network comprising a plurality of devices, each of which comprise a tag device. The secured network is formed by simply reading tag devices associated with consumer devices that a user desires to be in the secured network using the authorized tag reader apparatus. The random identification numbers associated with the plurality of consumer devices' tag devices are used to retrieve instructions that are implemented by the consumer device(s) to form/configure the secured network. The authorized tag reader apparatus is the only device that is enabled to subsequently configure/reconfigure the network, thereby securing the network for use only by the authorized tag reader apparatus.

    • A communications system having a transit switch for forwarding telephony calls. The transit switch has detector that detects whether a forwarding call is being diverted or is about to be diverted. The transit switch also includes a releasing function to release the call in response to the detector detecting that the forwarded call is being diverted or is about to be diverted. The communications system disconnects the call before the diverted call is completed so that no call charge is made to the caller. The communications system further includes an originating exchange, transit exchange and destination exchange whereby the originating exchange is able to forward calls to the transit exchange which includes the transit switch, and the transit exchange is able to forward the calls to a destination exchange.

    • A method for verifying the source of an electronic document located on a computer network, wherein said electronic document is viewed through a Document Viewer (1), which includes incorporating a document identifier into the electronic document. The document identifier contains identifying information related to the electronic document. A verification signal containing the identifying information and location information related to the location of the electronic document on the computer network is generated with the Document Viewer (1) and is transmitted to a verification computer. The verification computer accesses a data source to retrieve an identification record and a location record for the electronic document. These records are compared with the verification signal, and a reply signal is generated, which is transmitted back to the Document Viewer (1). If the information in the verification signal does not match the information contained in the identification and location records, then an error message may also be generated, which is sent to a designated recipient as notification of the error.

    • A software-implemented bridging routine is provided for a full duplex audio telephone system comprising units A, B and C. of which only unit A need have at least two lines and be full duplex. Unit A receives and speaker-reproduces an audio signal B+C that echoes with a time delay dt 1 and is detected by unit A's microphone as a signal k b Bdt 1 +k c Cdt 1 , where k b and k c are co-efficients. Unit A's host software determines time dt 1 and generates a delay dt 2 ≈ dt 1 . Unit A's host processor sums its own microphone output with a signal generated by a non-destination unit that is delayed by time dt 2 . Thus, when communicating with unit B, unit A's software generates a host processor output signal A+k b Bdt 1 +k c Cdt 1 +Cdt 2 . The k b Bdt 1 echo component is removed by unit A's AEC, which is coupled between units A and B. This causes unit B to receive the signal A+Cdt 2 +k c Cdt 1 from unit A. Since dt 2 ≈ dt 1 , user B hears voice A summed with a slightly delayed voice C (e.g., Cdt 2 ) superimposed with an attenuated in-phase version of voice C (e.g., k c Cdt 1 ). User B thus hears user A's voice and user C's voice conversing naturally in a full duplex manner. Similarly, B hears user A and user C conversing, and user C hears user A and user B conversing. In this fashion, full-duplex operation is achieved without using hardware bridge circuitry.
单元A的AEC除以单元A和B之间的kbBdt1回波分量,使单元B从单元A接收信号A + Cdt2 + kcCdt1。
