    • Apparatus for conveying a water-soluble or water swellable particulate material to a make up unit used in the hydration or dissolution of said material comprising: a scroll conveying line (6) comprising a duct (6A) defined by a wall and a scroll conveyor (6B) within said duct, wherein the scroll conveying line has an inlet (6D) through which material enters and an outlet (6C) through which the material leaves the scroll conveying line, and an air conveying line (3) comprising a duct through which an air stream conveys the material to a make up unit (18) in which the material is hydrated or dissolved to form an aqueous dilution or aqueous solution, in which the scroll conveying line (6) is provided with a means for ensuring the material substantially fills the space between the scroll conveyor and the wall of the duct at least at the outlet end of the conveying line, wherein the means is selected from, (a) the scroll conveying line (6) or outlet (6C) is in communication with an element that restricts the flow of material from the outlet, and/or (b) the scroll conveying line (6) is mounted at a gradient or a substantially vertical orientation, such that the outlet (6C) is positioned higher than the inlet (6D). Also claimed is a method of making an aqueous dilution or aqueous solution of water-soluble or water swellable particulate material using said apparatus.

    • PURPOSE:To greatly shorten the time for composting as a whole even if the period for natural fermentation in the final stage of composting is added because the greater part of the fermentation process necessary for composting is executable in an extremely short period of time. CONSTITUTION:This composting acceleration device has at least two units of mashers 1, 2 consisting of cylindrical housings 10, 20 having inlets 11, 21 at one end and outlets 14, 24 at the other end and transporting screws 13, 23 disposed therein. The outlet 14 of the one masher of these two units is connected to the inlet 21 of the other masher. The respective outlets of two units of the mashers are provided with partition means 19, 29 for holding a transporting pressure in the respective mashers. The composing acceleration device is provided with shearing members 15, 25 for pulverizing and agitating the composting raw materials to be transported on the inside surfaces of the respective cylindrical bodies of two units of the masher.
