摘要： A summarizer machine can be configured provide a summary file of at least one episode of a media series. The summary file may be generated or otherwise provided based on one or more social media messages. The summarizer machine detects a request that the summary file be generated for a user, and the request may specify the episodes to be summarized. The machine accesses a media database that stores the episodes and also accesses a communication database that records communications among social connections of the requesting user. The communications all identify a same media scene in a same episode, and some of the communications all reference a same media frame in that media scene. The machine determines an excerpt of a media file for the episode and incorporates the excerpt into the generated summary file. The machine causes the summary file to be provided in response to the request.

The client will make request to the server by pass the command and proper parameter to initiate the process. Systems and methods in accordance with embodiments of the invention can provide users with personalized video content feeds providing the video content that matters most to them. In several embodiments, a multi-modal segmentation process is utilized that relies upon cues derived from video, audio and/or text data present in a video data stream. In a number of embodiments, video streams from a variety of sources are segmented. Links are identified between video segments and between video segments and online articles containing additional information relevant to the video segments. In many embodiments, video clips from video segments can be ordered and concatenated based on importance in order to generate news briefs.

摘要： An internet client-server method to rapidly preview video files. Source video files are compressed into lower resolution preview video files, thumbnail image files, and stored on a preview internet server. Typically only a small fraction of the source video frames, such as 1 frame in 60, is used for the preview. A user using a touch sensitive computerized device such as a smartphone can view the thumbnail video images while the compressed video files load in the background. When the user touches or swipes an image of interest, or shakes the device, device video preview application software detects the action and directs the device to start playing the preview video file(s). The application software detects when the user swipes the preview video, and changes the rate and direction of playback of the preview video file, and trickplay functionality, often according to the speed and/or direction of the swipe.
